Today is Prom. I am not going. *sulks*

I think I prefer the idea that I'm emotionally distant and intimidating to the idea that boys don't like me. Also, I found a really pretty dress at the Macy's in Pasco when I was there last weekend for CBC -- five of the jazz band girls got together to look at prom dresses for the one of us who didn't have a dress yet and we all tried on dresses -- but I cannot find it on the Macy's website. This makes me really upset. *goes to look again* It was green and brown and vaguely tropical -- not really a prom dress, but, you know, the kind of dress you wear in the tropics while sipping fruity drinks and watching the cabana boy. You know, the good kind of dress.

Also, I wrote the first draft of the Big Damn Paper, and while it kind of sucks, it's also titled "At Play on the Cosmic Chessboard", which makes me happy.

Man, save yourself the annoyance of prom, and just go to the post-prom party! Free and much more fun than standing around in a fancy dress and painful shoes (although pretty dresses do win at the universe).

The pretty dresses make the whole darn thing. I'm just waiting for Tolo to roll around again so I can get another one.

I missed my senior prom! Didn't miss the party, though. Good times. I really was the anti-social anti-prom type, though.

What's Tolo?

Ack! I'm the semi-social, really want to dress up occasionally type.

Tolo is the dance where the girls ask the boys. We have two, formal and grubs, which is casual. The generic term is Sadie Hawkins, I think.

I like to dress up on the rare occassion, but I'm too lazy to do it just for a dance :D.

I'm too lazy to do it for anything but a dance. What I wear three hundred days out of the year is jeans and a sweatshirt; the other sixty days is jeans and a t-shirt.

Yeah, I'm definitely a jeans-and-t-shirt type of girl, but I wake up at noon, stumble to class in the first clean thing I can find, stumble back home, and go right back to bed, so I don't have a reason to look nice. But my friends and I go out sometimes to clubs or parties or whatever, and I dress up then in a cute outfit, actually wear make-up, etc.

It's finally too warm to wear a sweatshirt. I sob in joy at the thought. *hangs up the CSI hoodie until October*
