I might suggest you change out one of the pairs of long-pants for another pair or two of shorts. (but depends on how well you tolerate heat/humidity).

But I might not, because you might throw your suitcase at me.

I only own the one pair of shorts. (I rarely wear shorts, even during the hottest weather here, just because...well, shorts and me don't usually go along all that well.)

But that would require looking at the suitcase again. *weeps*

ahh, I see. Well, if you can tolerate the heat, it's probably fine. (define what is "hottest weather" in ellensburg.)

oh good, I'm (relatively) safe.

Over a 100 F, but we have relatively little humidity.

Plus, you know, the whole not being near you thing.

Yeah, the humidity here can be pretty mean. So it often feels hotter (or more oppressive) than it really is.

You sounded frustrated. And anyway, you will be near me soon. (ok, not exactly that near.)

YAY.

I am frustrated. *sigh* I'll be in Boston at least one day -- plus, applying to Boston U next year. This year. ARGH TENSES DIE DIE DIE.

In case of desperation, a boxcutter can perform surgery on pants and make them shorts. ;)

Boston is a nice city :)

*encourages bedlam to apply to boston-area schools* It really is nice here. Lots of schools, lots of hospitals & research facilities, great libraries, hockey of many flavors, the aquarium, franklin park zoo, the common & public garden (ducklings! in brass!), Newbury Street, Cambridge...

The two pairs of cargo pants zip off to be capri-ish length, fortunately.

I was there a couple years ago. I really liked it. I might apply to BC, too. I'm a little tentative at going to a school in a major city, because small-town country girl here, omg Crime! and people! and muggings! and public transport! but they're both good schools.

Adaptation is good.

Crime isn't that bad, I swear. I'm told New Englanders are pointier and more unfriendly than people in other parts of the country. There are some rougher neighborhoods than others, it being a city. Public Transport? Okay, I grant you the T is a scary thing. ;)

And BC has some of their campus in Newton, which is Rather Suburban.

*laughs* I think it's automatic fear of change on my part. Going to another small-medium college town is one thing, going to somewhere the size of Boston, or Los Angeles, or New York -- that's something else, because it's a totally alien environment. Plus, no rodeo!

Seriously. For 30 days, in a place that will have laundry? Especially if you wear jeans more than one day in a row?

Ten shirts, TOPS, including tanks, tees, and blouses. Five pairs of jeans, one pair of nice slacks, and maybe a pair or two of capris, and that's still a LOT. But I've gotten good at packing light.

You make an excellent point. But that would involve unpacking AGAIN.

If you have an hour to spare, you can just take stuff out and make stacks. But, I mean, you'll have laundry there, right? So why not empty that suitcase out a bit, so you can bring stuff home with you, or take a smaller suitcase? Seems like a LOT to have 16 t-shirts or whatever... one for every other day?

Hmmm, maybe, yeah. I basically dragged out all the cute stuff I'd wear during the school year, only didn't because...I don't remember that part, actually -- plus all the normal t-shirts I have, which is what I normally wear.

*sigh*

You're probably going CRAZY with this packing, aren't you? *pats* Just remember, Providence isn't the middle of nowhere. You can buy anything that you leave behind.

Good luck traveling (tomorrow?! today?!)!

Eeew, a redeye flight? Man, that's going to suck. You'll land in RI freaking early, won't you? Like, 6 or 7 AM Sunday morning?

Packing sucks. Trust me, I know. Just wait until it's time to pack for college, and you get to pack up YOUR ENTIRE LIFE to move away. You think a month is bad!

...no. I arrive at about 10:30 -- I've got a two hour stopover at Cleveland.

*weeps*

I meant to post the first chapter of the spaceforce novel today! I meant to write today! (I signed up for another ficathon, but that doesn't count.) God damn it, I wanted to finish the apocalyptothon story today and all I can do is e-mail files to my laptop.
