I HAVE INTERNET. HALLELUJAH, THANK THE LORD, ALL SHALL BE WELL.

Also, I have been up for over twenty-four hours with maybe an hour and a half, two hours, worth of sleep in that. Yay!

AND I STILL CAN'T GO TO BED YET.

Oh, also: in Rhode Island, in Providence, at Brown, in my dorm -- I have a single. Hallelujah!

Providence is closer than I thought. Give or take, about an hour or so from here via car.

Bah, city on a hill.

Well, it's definitely closer than Ellensburg. And New England accents!

They are only small hills, I promise. ;) Welcome to sea level. (anyway, they tore down half of Boston's hills back-in-the-day to build the other half of Boston.)

Haven't been to Providence much, but I know in Boston proper the accents can get pretty heavy. :) Also, apparently we talk fast.

Yes, but Boston was built to be the city on the hill.

Only a few accents so far, but it's kind of interesting. And they've been pretty slight, not really strong.

True. And we have Beacon Hill.

Rhode Island and CT tend to have less in the way of an accent than other parts of New England. It gets stronger/changes tone as you get further north.

It's so weird, though! And not in a bad way, just you know, a cultural way, because I'm not used to hearing accents at all. I mean, I'm from Washington. The west coast doesn't have accents, so much. We're getting them, but it's not like it is where there've been people for the past four hundred years.
