Oh my God, we just had a fucking fire drill. Holy shit, that thing was loud. Evidently not long enough; the girls in the shower didn't hear it. Glad I didn't take that shower I was thinking about!
It could've been worse; it could have been raining.
Bad fire drills I have known: five in one day in January in the new school because the fire alarms were too sensitive. In January. One where it was snowing the biggest flakes you've ever seen -- like, literally, they were piling up on top of our clothes as we stood out in the cold and shivered. And, of course, the one that went off in the middle of the AP Calc test. I'll always treasure that one. /sarcasm
The AP Calc test one has to take the cake for most Severely Harrowing Fire Alarm Ever.
I've had them in snowstorms (at least twice), once in the middle of the night in December in Maine, and once most recently in the middle of the night in winter here. It was a mad dash for pants and shoes.
Oh my God, you have no idea. They had to call up the College Board to make sure our scores were still going to count! We all nearly had heart attacks! I went out the door crying!
Okay, that's bad. Fortunately haven't had any at night here. (And it was just our dorm, too! All the other dorms were staring at us, probably wondering, "Huh, why is Sears pouring out and why are their windows flashing?"
It is the sort of punishment I would not wish upon my nearly-worst enemies. Worst, possibly.
The fire alarm here at night was, in fact, because someone pulled the damn thing, apparently thinking it would be amusing to pull a fire alarm at 3 in the morning. Ah, college.
I don't know, when the fire alarm at the cafeteria went off a couple days ago (NO REALLY) they told us there was an actual fire and made us all leave, but as soon as we were all outside they told us we could all come back in. ARGH ARGH ARGH.
