Jun. 30th, 2007 06:37 pmNewport? Boring. Also, clearly the reason all my money is tied up in traveler's cheques is so I don't spend it, because I probably would have spent a heck of a lot more money if I'd had more than six dollars in cash. And by a heck of a lot more, I mean, spent money period.

Date: 2007-07-01 03:25 am (UTC)I last used traveler's cheques to buy my books my first year in college. Definitely not for actual money. (all the travel I've done, it's been a combination of straight cash and whatever's in my bank account.)

Date: 2007-07-01 03:35 am (UTC)My mom made me bring them. I was going to break a couple of them down to cash tomorrow because we're going to the mall, and then I realized that tomorrow's Sunday and thus the banks are closed. ARGH. Maybe I'll buy something very small at the bookstore. (Also: Brown, you suck. Do you have size smalls in anything? The girls want to buy clothes too, you know.)

Oh my. :( :O We're not that bad. *hides copies of the local papers*. No, really, I promise. *halo* The trick, I guess, with the city is that you keep a nice dose of paranoia, but don't act paranoid -- just act like you belong there, and go about your business. But maybe I've just spent too much time in Downtown Crossing and on the subway.
In some supermarkets, banks are open on Sundays. According to the Internetz, there's a Citizens Bank at the Stop & Shop ... near the campus? (333 West River Road) open 11am-3pm on Sunday, and one at the Providence Place Mall open 12-4pm. :) (see? urban areas have good points.)
