Argh, now I'm trying to figure out what music the mysteriously malfunctioning car radio is playing while Ellie Browder talks with the devil. So far we've got "Hell's Bells", "Highway to Hell", "The Devil Went Down to Georgia", and "Crossroad Blues."

Yes. Because that's not subtle at all.

Well, I guess it helps that my MC's drunk. And driving, but then you have to consider that she just watched high school football and her husband's dead, so that makes it -- not all that much better, but more explainable. And the devil's in her passenger seat, but she doesn't quite realize that yet.

ARGH. DIE YOU BASTARD DIE. Any other music suggestions?

Hell if I know. Because it looks pretty on his wall? Because he can look up at the heavens and yell, "Hey, you! Yeah, you, the one on the big chair! Look what I have and you don't!" Or is it just because he likes fucking with people's heads whatever way he can?

Well, there's the whole Balance thing in some stories, right? So if the Devil thinks that the Guys Up There are after a soul, he'll go after it just to be contrary. And heaven doesn't have any logic in picking it's souls... *shrug*

But that's unnecessary exposition! And I don't think I could fit into the story, especially since Josh Browder isn't actually dead. Now, if he was, it might be worth it just because he's the devil and he's a mean fucker, so he could separate Josh Browder, who'd be going to heaven, from his beloved wife, Ellie, who'd be going to Hell because of her deal. But that does not work for various reasons.

Hell, maybe it is just because she was sitting at a crossroads and he's bored. ARGH. *headdesk ad infitum*
