Quick quote from the space pirates (oh god, oh god) story:

Anakin had heard a lot about the Separatist general Grievous, but he'd never actually met the man. Or mostly duranium monstrosity, rather.

"General Kenobi," Grievous said, rolling the syllables around in his wheeze. "The Negotiator."

Kitster turned to stare at the Jedi. Even on the Outer Rim General Obi-Wan Kenobi was well-known, a hero of the Republic and the war against the Seps.

Kenobi smiled slightly and coldly. "General Grievous," he said, voice still extremely mild. "I require the return of Senator Amidala of Naboo, if you please."

"You are not in a position to negotiate, General Kenobi," Grievous rasped. "Take them away. Lord Sidious wants Kenobi alive."

The worst part about writing Star Wars is the dialgoue. *haunted look* Especially the Anakin/Padme bits -- that's holdover from "Summerlong", the Anakin/Padme fluff. And the villains. The heroes? Not usually as bad. (This isn't a problem in the Lostverse, damn it!)

And now I have to go play Battle of the Bands. Viva Homecoming 2007! (The theme is Lollipalooza -- Pure Sweetness. Better than EHSPN -- Where Everyone Is A Winner!)

Given some of the dialogue *in* SW, I don't think you can write anything too bad by comparison...but that's my opinion. *is amused*

Yes. This is what kept me sane while writing SW. At least it's not worse than canon.

It's like that in HP, too. There's some good writers, like in any fandom-and some poor, delusional sods that are so desperate to make Snape, Draco, Ron-hell, name your flavor and there's a crazed fangirl for 'em-into these secretly misunderstood genius sex gods...it's revolting! *glowers*
