I think Practical Magic takes place in the SPN 'verse.

I mean, there's nothing there that specifically contradicts it, and the Owens sisters and the Winchester brothers really need to meet.

Huh, speaking of which, why haven't we gotten the classic "witchcraft in Massachusetts" ep? We need good witches, anyway. Like, part-time hunter type witches. Huh.

You don't know how tempted I am to write something like that. Maybe not PM/SPN, but something with witches and the Winchester brothers.

It's only been two seasons of it yet, right? They may get to it. Have they done witchcraft at all?

On that note, how to tell I live in Salem:

Little girl to women in cloaks: "Are you witches?"
Women: "Yes, we are : )"

Huh. Let me think about that -- I think so, but I'm not positive. I bet they do it this season, though.

HA! That's awesome.

If I ever watched it, I think I'd be all "hey that's not Salem! :(" They probably will -- it's established itself. I guess witchcraft is a bit different on the paranormal scale than, say, ghosts or werewolves or something.

Come october, I live in cracksville, USA. : )

Oh, please. Supernatural will hit anything and hit it well. *happy sigh*

So tomorrow, then?

I didn't say they wouldn't do it well, but I doubt they could actually film on location in Salem. ;) But they could make it look quite a bit like Salem, I hope.

And, *cries* alas, yes. I mean it starts getting touristy mid-september, but October really starts the horse apples rolling. By the 25th onward, it's "hide from downtown" mode.

Ah. Okay, yeah. So more or less the same thing I do with every movie or TV show that's supposed to take place anywhere in Washington. (Photoshopping the Space Needle in does so not make it Seattle.)

No, no indeed. If you're going to do skyline shots, at least use real skyline footage. :P with most large US cities it's probably easier to get away with, like, your average street scene, as long as you stay within the region. (ie, Boston could potentially double for NY). And if you didn't pick up any major landmarks that weren't where they should be.

Yeah, and with the average viewer it'll probably pass muster. It's just that when you're trying to convince a Seattlite that Vancouver is Seattle that you've got problems.
