I am flying out to Boston tonight to visit Wellesley. *crosses fingers*

Naturally, after five weeks of almost no homework, my teachers have decided that now is a great time to give me bucketloads of it. That's right: the weekend I won't even be in the state. And I'm damn well not hauling my chem book cross-country when I don't even know how to the problems in the first place; I'll beg and plead with my teacher when I get back on Tuesday.

Good luck.

It is pretty in Boston this time of year. :)

If the trees would just cooperate and show off some of that spectacular foliage... srsly. :O

And there's no mafia in the city of Wellesley. Just the Yuppie Mafia and some angry NIMBYs.

(this is Bedlam, just on a different journal)

*wide eyes* What? No spectacular foliage?

What's the weather like right now?

It is pretty, yes, but it's been a bit punky in patches for the past couple of years. Stupid global warming. Wellesley should be pretty nice; I think Newton was and they're right next to each other.

Right now? Up where I am, it's nearly 60, a little brisk and bright and sunny. It's supposedly a little cooler in Wellesley, but probably much the same. Forecast is the same for tomorrow. :)

I shall have to bring the camera.

So about the same as here, then. Having those, "oh my god, what kind of clothes do I need?" moments is one of the worst parts of travelling."

The maple trees particularly enjoy going all-out. They're all "OMGYAYFALL." and turn into grand orgies of red-orange-sometimes-purple-yellow-too.

Yeah, it's pretty much sort of like ... jeans and sweatshirts weather, I suppose.

*wide eyes* OOOH.

So definitely about the same as here.

Do trees just not do this in other parts of the country? Poor trees, not having fun.

Well, our states are sort of at a similar latitude... so I'd guess probably about the same, yes. It might be more windy since we're coastal.

Well, yes, but New England autumns are kind of legendary.

Heh. I really doubt anywhere is more windy than Ellensburg.

Woo for New England. But like I said, it's been a bit slacking in the past couple of years. That, or I'm old and cynical.

It tends to get pretty gusty up in Salem, but, I'm right on the water. It's also fairly damp here. (although humidity is about the same here and there, according to wunderground).

Ellensburg is windy but dry.

usually humidity here stands at 70% or so. Sometimes more. It's a shocking 44% at the moment.

The airport is not that close to the North End. :O

(nor to Southie, for that matter. Or Charlestown. Whose Mafia did you want, again?)

Enjoy! If you have a chance and enjoy strolling, take a walk around the lake. Ignore the signs telling you you're entering private property, no one cares, and the path is very well-marked. New England is great this time of year.

Wellesley was gorgeous, and I did in fact walk around the lake! Granted, it was dark at the time, but it was pretty cool.

*waves* i checked your journal again--i loved the apocalyptothon (is that even spelled right?) fic by the way--and i see this! you have no idea how happy this makes me!

i'm studying abroad this year (i'm a junior) otherwise i would insist on meeting you and giving you chocolate or something while you're at wellesley. (yay! wellesley!)

i know it's a women's college and we don't really have the majors you want, but i hope you enjoyed your visit and got to see how awesomely beautiful our campus is and everything!

if you have any questions about wellesley ever please please please feel free to ask me!! maybe i'll see you next year :)

Wellesley was very beautiful. I did like the school, mostly, but I got the impression it didn't like me -- um, the most recent post is a long-ass write up about my trip to Wellesley.

Oh, it's too bad you weren't there! It would have been really nice to have someone to talk to.

And I'm glad you liked the apocalyptothon fic; it was fun to write.
