The theatrical poster for "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" is up, and since Susan is in the forefront besides Caspian, I'm going to take a wild guess and say they'll at least be insinuating a romantic relationship between Susan and Caspian. Why is Peter in the back? Peter is the High King of Narnia, dude. (And as far as Narnia goes, I've always seen more Caspian/Lucy than Caspian/Susan, anyway. Not that there's much romance in Narnia. Or any.)

And concept art for King Miraz and the Telmarines.

In other news, oh my God, just take the "Dark is Rising" tag off it entirely already. "The Seeker: The Dark is Rising" is now just "The Seeker", and they've changed so much of it they should really just change all the characters' names, which are basically the last remaining serial numbers. This hurts. Physically. Oh, Hollywood, you were doing so well with young adult fantasy to movies, too, and now THIS monstrosity. (In related news: oh my God, if they tried to fly real birds at my face I'd already have died of a heart attack. I'm extremely ornithophobic -- yes, I know the proper word for a fear of birds now!.)

(I have a half-day today, that's why I'm home. And on the computer. I'm going to go bounce off and watch the Eureka season finale now.)

I will most definitely not be jumping on the Twilight bandwagon. It just pisses me off far too much.

Expanda numbered list why )

*wide eyes* In case nobody guessed from the list, the dialogue was a big thing. I really, really need realistic dialogue, and that book did not deliver.

And besides. Stephanie Meyer set it on the Wet Side. I'm sorry, I mean the West Side. Hello, there are more places in Washington besides everything west of Seattle. Come east! Or actually, don't; keep your crappy writing set on the west side of the Cascades so all the good stuff happens over here in Central and Eastern Washington.

Verdict: while The Covenant made me want to write my punk teenage magic high school novel because it was awesome, Twilight makes me want to write my punk teenage magic high school novel to show Stephanie Meyer how we kick it on the right side of Washington, and how to do it without unnecessary angst, realistic characters, and oh my God dialogue that sounds like actual human beings are talking.

In other words, I'm done now. *prances off*
