newsflash at eleven: the state of Louisiana DROWNS

I am SO WET. And cold.

Well, not so much anymore, because I got back to my dorm and changed out of my completely soaked jeans and t-shirt into sweats, but oh my God. SO WET. Didn't bother getting out the umbrella because it was windy and rainy and I was in a hurry to get to my class that's very nearly a mile away from my dorm -- my roommate looked it up -- so by the time I got to Mayer, the English building, I was soaked to the skin. Boy, that was a fun class. (Apparently, a number of other schools in New Orleans have cancelled school today. Not Tulane, of course. This is like winter in Ellensburg all over again. We don't cancel for anything short of the apocalypse, and even then we only delay.)

Ran to my next class, which is by my dorm -- i.e., on the other side of campus -- and took a Japanese quiz, and am now back at J.L., drying out. My books are soaked -- they were in my backpack and they're soaked. Worse, my knitting was in my backpack, and not in a plastic bag, and it's wet. At least it's cotton -- it's a nearly complete dishcloth.

Next class is at 1:00, but it's nearby, and then I have my band audition, which should go swimmingly, as in, I haven't practiced in ages. Especially since I'm auditioning on flute and not bari. *face*

But then it's the WEEKEND, and I can lounge around and...I've been lounging around and eating microwave popcorn and writing fic. Uh. I can do it all without the interruption of class, except for that pesky homework thing?

okay, I think the rage is washing out of me. breathe, bedlam, breathe

GOD DAMN IT, I am so pissed, I just fucked up my flute audition amazingly, though if I am very lucky they will realize they don't have a tenor player and I will get to play saxophone. Please realize you have no tenor sax player. (I am not making this up out of whole cloth by the way; the director and the flute prof were talking about this once they realized I actually played saxophone.)

Of course, it's a bad sign when your audition goes so badly they want to put you on a different instrument. On the other hand, saxophone is my primary, so please.

Someone come be soothing at me while I stare at my four sentences of Peta/Caspian and try to figure out if it wants to turn into porn or if it's content where it is. Also my fic -- I know where this one is going, though -- the washcloth I'm knitting while the other one dries out (fuck you, Ike, why couldn't you have just hovered over Cuba for a while? Or Tulane, jeez, Loyola is closed and it's next door), and my in-progress fanmixes, which make me want more music, except I've only got eleven bucks left on my iTunes giftcard and I don't want to spend actual money on iTunes. WAH.
