Jan. 15th, 2009 08:44 amGuys, I went to breakfast.
And yesterday I did homework throughout the day. (Okay, by homework I mean "read a lot" and "studied Japanese.") I kind of stopped when the Fitzgerald translation of the Odyssey stopped making any sense -- I was staring at the words, but they weren't processing -- but that's my 3:30 class, so I have time to read another 100 pages before that. (You know, to accompany the other 100, 150 pages of the Fagles translation of the Odyssey that I read for a different class. Fitzgerald seems like a better translator than Fagles, though, or at least more interesting.) This being a responsible student thing sucks. (I don't even want to think about what it's going to be like when I have, like, ten papers due at once later on in the semester.)
And then I, uh, got really snippy and probably insulted a bunch of people, which...um, sorry, I need to remember to step away from the computer when that sort of thing comes up. And then I wrote 470 words of Dust 10! Because I hadn't written in days, and I really needed it. And then I was happy and soothed, although a little bothered by the fact that my roommate didn't come back. (She wasn't here this morning, either. Dude, if you're going to pay for room and board, stay here; if not, go back to being a commuter. Gas prices may be going up, but they're still probably not equivalent to paying room and board at Tulane.)
And now I am going to write a little more, then go to class.
ETA: GUYS WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THE OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY WAS THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER? Um, except for
ineptshieldmaid, I mean.
