Guys, I went to breakfast.

And yesterday I did homework throughout the day. (Okay, by homework I mean "read a lot" and "studied Japanese.") I kind of stopped when the Fitzgerald translation of the Odyssey stopped making any sense -- I was staring at the words, but they weren't processing -- but that's my 3:30 class, so I have time to read another 100 pages before that. (You know, to accompany the other 100, 150 pages of the Fagles translation of the Odyssey that I read for a different class. Fitzgerald seems like a better translator than Fagles, though, or at least more interesting.) This being a responsible student thing sucks. (I don't even want to think about what it's going to be like when I have, like, ten papers due at once later on in the semester.)

And then I, uh, got really snippy and probably insulted a bunch of people, which...um, sorry, I need to remember to step away from the computer when that sort of thing comes up. And then I wrote 470 words of Dust 10! Because I hadn't written in days, and I really needed it. And then I was happy and soothed, although a little bothered by the fact that my roommate didn't come back. (She wasn't here this morning, either. Dude, if you're going to pay for room and board, stay here; if not, go back to being a commuter. Gas prices may be going up, but they're still probably not equivalent to paying room and board at Tulane.)

And now I am going to write a little more, then go to class.

ETA: GUYS WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THE OXFORD ENGLISH DICTIONARY WAS THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER? Um, except for [livejournal.com profile] ineptshieldmaid, I mean.

You know, I'm no stranger at having songs jump out at me and say, "I am a Peter song!" or "I am a Dust song!", but this is the first time I have had an entire album do so. (Well, the majority of the album.)

Fire on the Sea -- the Calormene invasion in LB.

Insh'Allah, New Northwest, Destiny -- Tirian and Peter, and I think I actually just figured out one of the emotional subplots in Dust.

Battle for Mosque Al Amu -- if March of Cambreadth is the battle song for the Golden Age, then this is the battle song for Dust.

You know, I've never read the book that the album is based on, but the music, at least, makes it sound interesting. Once I stop being creeped out by the parallels. Tell me: I am completely losing my mind, or can one see Dust here?

Guys, I don't even know what this is; it's been on my computer for a while now and I have no idea where it came from (well, you know, besides the obvious) or what the context is. And I'm relatively certain it's not going anywhere, so I am going to throw it out here so I can stop thinking that something's going to happen when it's clearly not. I mean, seriously, this may have been one of the most pointless things I've written in Narnia.

'go to hell,' peter spits. )
