You know, I'm no stranger at having songs jump out at me and say, "I am a Peter song!" or "I am a Dust song!", but this is the first time I have had an entire album do so. (Well, the majority of the album.)

Fire on the Sea -- the Calormene invasion in LB.

Insh'Allah, New Northwest, Destiny -- Tirian and Peter, and I think I actually just figured out one of the emotional subplots in Dust.

Battle for Mosque Al Amu -- if March of Cambreadth is the battle song for the Golden Age, then this is the battle song for Dust.

You know, I've never read the book that the album is based on, but the music, at least, makes it sound interesting. Once I stop being creeped out by the parallels. Tell me: I am completely losing my mind, or can one see Dust here?

IT IS NOT PORN

...er.

I am not sure. Let me think on it. It's something about parallels and kingship and letting go and accepting things all at once. I was going to say it was similar to the Peter/Caspian parallels in PC, but it's not, of course: Caspian wasn't a king, and Tirian is. They're both kings in exile... *muses*

oooh yes yes. 'cos what tirian is going through, peter has gone through, in a way. losing his home, losing his reign, unlikely allies. where peter angrily says, "grow some fucking balls! are you king of narnia or not??" except maybe not in those exact words, and he's yelling at himself as much as he is at tirian. 'cos even when you're not king of narnia, you're STILL king of narnia, and this is both a blessing and a curse.

yes, yes, and it's like -- tirian's misspent childhood playing in, too. not in the details, but in that even though he did all this, even though he was in a way responsible, he can still step up and be king again. stop being selfish and start being selfless -- there's more at stake than just his life or the lives of his immediate friends, that sort of thing. something like that. he can't just let the pevensies do everything.

not that i know how that part's going to work. *beats head into desk*
