AHAHAHAHA I am writing Peter/Susan and the first song that comes up on Pandora is the Dixie Chicks' "Long Time Gone."

...look, it's quarter to four in the morning, what do you expect, coherency? I'm not even studying. Brain: gone. But dear God, Peter and Susan are comfortable together after five years, even counting that eight months or so when Peter stormed off to go fight giants and Susan flounced off to go flirt with Calormenes (and then there was trauma. Because this is the Warsverse, and I have to justify Susan in HHB). They're comfortable and adorable and absolutely certain of each other.

And then, for the real kicker, this is the night of These Last Golden Days of Summer -- which is, of course, not all that long before the White Stag fiasco.

Also, I think the time Peter got possessed by the White Witch may have happened immediately before he went missing during the Natare fiasco; that's the reason he left Cair Paravel. (Edmund's faux-betrayal predated that, but not by all that much. And trust me, the Witch used it to her advantage.)

Why, yes, I did buy Sex with Kings: 500 Years of Adultery, Power, Rivalry, and Revenge yesterday for...research purposes.

Because, you know, I might write more Edmund and Mehcal at some point in time. And I should be prepared with historical examples! Just in case.

I also bought Bloodhound, Tamora Pierce's new book, and another box of tissues. The tissues are coming in handy. *blows nose*

Gee, I feel like I just keep reaching fannish milestone after fannish milestone. I made it onto fandomsecrets (#132), should I be proud or alarmed? (Thanks to snacky for the link.)

Meanwhile, on the list of things no one wanted to know about the Pevensies, when they were in England and after all her siblings had already left school, Lucy had an affair with one of her professors. One day Peter walked in, blinked a few times, then walked out. The professor still does not understand why (knowing Peter's reputation) he's still alive and Peter didn't even give him the tongue-lashing of his life.
