writing mojo has returned! I am overjoyed!

EEEE I think I am halfway through Coastwise and it's all downhill from here. (Also, we are now on land THANK YOU GOD.) It looks like there will be no hitting, though, which I think this makes it the longest thing I've ever written where there are no swordfights or fistfights or barfights or fights of any kind. But it's not done yet! Fights could still occur! The two countries may be about to go to war, of course.

And then there is Over the Hills, which is mostly me being happy with the Army, but which I'm not going to touch again until Coastwise is done.

(Although on the army note, I suddenly want to go back to the boot camp story. I could!)

And then there is this plot bunny, where the thing that's amusing me right now is that the POV character doesn't speak Narnian, so all the sibling snark and the background on how Lucy managed to go missing for three or four months and nobody noticed is lost.

Lucy: *curious* "Usually Peter is the one who comes tearing out of Cair Paravel when one of us goes missing."
Edmund: "Well, you do have a propensity for vanishing into thin air, so none of us noticed for a while."
Lucy: "Oh, thanks."
Edmund: "And Peter was in Lantern Waste knocking heads together."
Lucy: "For four months?"
Edmund: "Two. But then one of the border lords made a try at raiding the Archriver herd and he had to go take care of that."
Lucy: "For two months?"
Edmund: "Two weeks."
Lucy: "And where were you?"
Edmund: "Redhaven. I only got back to Narnia last week."
Lucy: "Don't tell me Susan didn't notice!"
Edmund: "Did you know Susan was pregnant?"
Lucy: "What?" *pause* "Was? She had a baby?"
Edmund: *shakes his head slowly* "She lost the baby. The Guard says she hasn't left her rooms in weeks. Peter's with her now. He called me back from the Seven Isles."
Lucy: "Oh, Aslan..." *pause* "...so I wasn't high priority?"
Edmund: "Well, you do go missing a lot. Peter did notice eventually."
