Just in case we're wondering, I am on one of those binges where I look for real life equivalents to things I am going to use in fic.
I'm looking for small fishing boats for Terebinthia, and man, I may have to use the Galway hooker for the dramatic video/music alone.
Or there's the Friendship sloop, but it doesn't have the dramatic music accompanying it...
Or a dogger? Hmmm. Something fairly small and really, really maneuverable, but that generally takes a small crew of less than a dozen to operate it, for...uh, fishing of some kind. Not close to shore, for various reasons that will become apparent. But it has to be extremely maneuverable. (No, seriously, really maneuverable. Y'all shall see.)
And, apparently, accompanied by dramatic music. Obviously. What more do you want in a boat? (I am not kidding about the small, but not too small, and maneuverable here. It has to be able to fit through spaces a warship or a trader would never be able to.)
