Engaging in the great England vs. France: Who Is More Awesome? debate with roommate. She is for France. (She is also for France and Texas getting together and forming Frances. I tried to vote for Washington and England getting together and forming Washingland, but...that doesn't sound as cool.)

We have respectfully agreed to disagree. Partially because neither of us has a strong background in what we were arguing about. (And by either of us, I mean me, but, you know, principles.)
bedlamsbard: test: research is what I'm doing when I don't know what I'm doing (research (girlyb_icons))
Huh. Maybe I can get myself to write my paper (Ruth Hall, the question of identity, must stretch to five-six pages double-spaced) if I tell myself I can write Dust afterwards.

(Guys, you...have no idea how nervous it makes me that Dust is even up in the air (um, pun not intended) again, because of the wreck that happened last time I tried this chapter. I am trying to trick myself into writing fic I desperately want to write.)

Also, I am kind of loving The Ruin of the Roman Empire, except I'm not sure I'll have time to finish it before I fly home and the library back home doesn't have it. I could always buy it! ...I will consider this option after I have sold back my textbooks.

Okay, paper.

I am also considering rereading all of Narnia when I get home, though I don't want to haul my copies cross-country -- I think the library has one of the omnibus editions, if not, I know they have multiple copies of the books. And I have them all on the iPod, though I think I'd prefer reading them.

ETA: Oh, hey, I just figured out that some of the religious imagery in Dust serves a Symbolic Purpose that I never thought about before. Okay, paper, seriously.

I must be back in Narnia headspace. I just mentally coded Bad Romance as an Aslan/Pevensies song.

If you want me, I'll be over here in the corner gathering up the shards of my dignity and butchering my Antebellum American Lit paper.
