So! Tomorrow I am flying back to the Cold Snowy North (very different from the Warm Flooded South Wow That Sounds Wrong But Have You Seen The Weather Reports For Lousiana?) and...I am the last of my friends to leave. Texas left Sunday, Chicago and New York left yesterday (New York writing her paper up until Chicago (the one with the car) dragged her out the door), and Alaska left this morning. Mostly this means I have to make sure everything in the suite is in order, and am also going to be leaving not far from the time when they kick us out of the dorms.

Am mostly packed, not taking much home because my New Orleans clothes don't work with an Ellensburg winter at all -- mostly Christmas presents. My mother is getting Gumbo Tales: Finding My Place at the New Orleans Table, 1 Dead in Attac: After Katrina (I saw Chris Rose speak a few months ago; he's good), socks, soap, tea...I have suddenly realized I sound really boring.

All I want is smooth traveling. Let us not go into the disaster that was my trip home last year. Smooth flights! Shuttle from Seattle to Ellensburg not getting stuck, unless of course the five o'clock shuttle is late and I can get on that one instead of waiting for the eight o'clock. And I have instructions to inquire about getting on earlier flights out of Houston and New Orleans, which is probably somewhat unlikely, but I am hopeful.
