bedlamsbard: natasha romanoff from the black widow prelude comic (come back to narnia (boredess))
The Wardrobe Door has posted new pictures from PC. I may never come down again. Susan's red and gold cloak that wasn't in the film! The fact that Rhindon is on Peter's right side instead of his left in the FIDM display! OMG, look at this beautiful shot of the tooling on Peter's bag. Oh, Tumnus! Peter's body language in this cap!

(Seriously, that's -- I really need to rewatch this movie, but if that one still is representative, and since that's how I write Peter in PC, that -- yes. I was not pulling stuff out of thin air. His pose is physically imposing in direct conflict with his actual body and the fact that, technically, he's at a disadvantage. He's looking down at Caspian, head cocked critically; Caspian, despite the fact he has a sword in his hand, is in a defensive pose -- not fighting-wise, but he's loose and open, confused. He doesn't know what's going on.)

Also, what is the Narnian in the back of this cap, between Caspian and Susan? I can't see a head, so it's hard to tell. That's not Trufflehunter, is it? Must rewatch to see if I can get a clear shot -- oh, that is Trufflehunter, I can see it now. I think he and the mice are the only Talking Animals that stand upright in this film, if I'm not mistaken. Also, in this cap, look at the expressions on the Pevensies' faces -- Lucy, Susan, and Edmund are all looking ahead, wide-eyed and excited, while Peter's eyes are closed; he's smiling quietly and calmly to himself. The others are directed outwards; he's directed inwards. (Granted, again, I really have to rewatch the film; this is just what I'm picking up on from caps.) Caspian looks dubious, of course.

Seriously, just look at that cloak.

(Oh, Narnia. You have successfully prevented me from working on Dust 20, new with no canon whatsoever! Yes, even less than usual; this is, like, The Godfather of Cair Paravel, a.k.a. the new OC POV.)

OMG VOTDT TRAILER OMG OMG OMG OMG.

OMG.

OH EDMUND. Oh, Edmund. OH LUCY. Huh, that's surprisingly little emphasis on Eustace or Caspian, I didn't expect that. No dragon, either. OH EDMUND. Five gets you ten that's Susan's bow, must watch again. HI THERE JADIS. OH LUCY is that the same actress that was there at the end of LWW? OH PEVENSIES OH NARNIA

I'm sorry, I think I'm going to be useless for the rest of the day.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG.

I -- I am actually shaking. The last time I was shaking out of this kind of excitement was when my copy of PC was delivered unto my arms from the loving bosom of Mail Operations a day early.

OMG OMG.

ETA: PETER AND SUSAN ARE IN THE TRAILER. Damn, Edmund's grown up fine. Why are Jadis's eyes green, aren't they blue? Must be because she's evil. LUCY BEING KICKASS. No, seriously, I'm surprised that Caspian only shows up, I think, once in the entire trailer. I really expected that line of Lucy's from the book, "C-c-caspian!"

Hi, Edmund, I see you've taken on Peter's issues from PC, a good family lineage to carry on! OH EDMUND. The women, so calm. PETER AND SUSAN OMG OMG OMG hi Eustace.

Son of ETA: "So if there's not a war, why are we here?" Oh, Edmund. You have seen what's what, haven't you? THIS BREAKS PATTERN. THAT IS ALARMING.

I'm still really bewildered over the whole Caspian thing. Reepicheep shows up more than Caspian.

Lucy is definitely carrying (and shooting!) Susan's bow. An interesting choice, since Edmund is carrying Peter's sword. (And what is going on in that scene where it glows blue, I wonder?)

No, seriously. Why are Peter and Susan in Narnian clothes in their two-second appearance? It's hard for me to tell if they're Telmarine-style or Golden Age-style, there's not enough time to see and it's mostly a portrait shot.

Again, I am quite surprised nothing of the dragon is in there. That's a fundamental part of the book, they can't have left it out entirely, and it's a friggin' dragon; who doesn't want a dragon in their trailer?

Why is Eustace in English clothes on the Dufflepud island? That's pretty late in the story, shouldn't he have been in Narnian clothes for a long time?

Huh, following up on the dragon thought, no sea serpent either? This is the most popular of the Narnia books, and those are both very flash and very well-known and great character moments. I've seen the pictures of the damage of the Dawn Treader, so something attacks it; I really hope they didn't conflate the two.

Huh, I see I've moved on from pure squee to being logical, cynical, and questioning. Calm again! Wow, that was fast.

Bride of ETA: After careful thought, after [livejournal.com profile] westingturtle mentioned Edmund trying to enlist on a grocery run -- clearly he and Lucy were getting groceries for the Scrubbs, and Edmund tried to enlist JUST TO GET AWAY FROM EUSTACE.

You know he would, y'all. Oh, PEVENSIES.

Godfather of ETA: The non-pirated version of the trailer is available here and here. The first one is the best picture, but it starts immediately after the page loads.

After some thoughtful consideration, I'm wondering if the Magician's island (the island of the Dufflepuds) has been moved up significantly in the timeline than in the book, since Eustace is still in England clothes and he does have that line about, "You are all about to be tested."
