Jul. 16th, 2010 10:32 pm*groans* I have family coming over this weekend, argh. I knew it in advance, but I thought it was just going to be Sunday night and leaving Monday, and then I found out that my uncle, his wife, and my step-cousin are coming over tomorrow, which means that the whole weekend is going to be taken up with Being Social. (My grandmother and her boyfriend are coming on Sunday. I assume the visits are going to overlap at least slightly.)
They are all perfectly nice human beings, but...I am not good with people. Especially for long periods of time at close proximity. Especially when I thought it would be a much shorter period of time!
Also I have a test on Monday that I have to study for, which will at least give me an excuse to flee the sea of humanity (okay, when I put it this way, one wonders how I manage to survive going to university in a city when going to the grocery store on a busy day can make me panic: I spend a lot of time on my own), although I'm sort of wondering if I should take the car and flee to the university library or the public library. It is a very attractive notion, at this point.
*breathes* It is not so bad. Step-cousin is the same age as me, although I go to a reputable -- okay, I am not going to get snobby. Baking this weekend: chocolate cake with chocolate glaze tomorrow, for my dad's birthday (thus the deluge of humanity), more bread, apple and blueberry muffins, depending on how I feel, possibly another cake (poppyseed with blueberry glaze) on Sunday. Possibly cookies if I have time, though I doubt it: cookies are for me, not for company. Gods, I don't want to deal with people; I want to curl up in the coolest room in the house with my books and my knitting and my iPod -- not my computer, because it's summer, it keeps getting annoyingly hot -- and be alone have I mentioned I do not like people? (Seriously, how is it that none of my roommates killed me in my sleep?)
