ancient history is SERIOUS BUSINESS, y'all

So, my shock of the morning came when a book I'm reading said that Rome was "not famed for their technological originality." Yeah, you know those Romans. So unoriginal, omg, can you believe them? (The best part is that the line comes right after the author finished talking about all Rome's technological innovations, way to send mixed messages, man.)

Also, ancient Egypt was "precocious." That's not exactly the word I would have used... I know Solomon used it elsewhere, but I can't find it, I think it was Crete or Sumeria or Akkad or somewhere else vastly inappopriate. And that's not even counting all the other historical facts he either got wrong or misrepresented. Gods save me from journalists who write books without knowing WHAT THE FUCK THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT, this is the second one in a week!

Not being able to talk about my narniaexchange story while I am writing it is killing me, although, uh, if you saw me on Twitter fifteen minutes ago, well...I get to type the word "[redacted]" a lot.

*coughs* My impression of the story has gone from "OMG WHAT WILL I WRITE I do not know these characters or this time period or OMG THIS IS AWESOME I LOVE EVERYTHING." In other news, I am probably the least anonymous author in fandom, period.

Wait. Let me get this straight. My computer has a nervous breakdown (virus #2 in a week! same virus, too! I hate computers!), system restore almost breaks my computer (see above re: I hate computers), and a new VotDT trailer came out?

I'm not sure if that translates to "there is justice in the world" or "there is no justice in the world."

Also, if anyone could tell me how to get that damn thing away from my comp, that'd be groovy.
