beware the Ides of March
Mar. 15th, 2011 12:51 pmI am pretty sure Coriolanus is the slashiest Shakespeare play I have ever read. Also, does Volumnia have the longest monologue of any female character in Shakespeare? I guess I'll find out in class today.
Also, I am pretty sure we are reading the wrong Roman play for today. *sad* They never make you read Julius Caesar in college because all professors think that you read it in high school. (Which I didn't, by the way. The regular sophomore English classes did, but honors sophomore English decided it was too easy, so we read Othello instead. I have read Othello too many freaking times by junior year of college, man.)
Borgias honors thesis is a possible go. I mentioned to my professor that Showtime was making a series out of it, and the student worker in the history department office went, "WHOO BORGIAS!" and startled the hell out of him. HISTORY NERDS I LOVE THEM. (In other nerds: Look at Jofre Borgia's monkey! I haven't seen the variation of the poster that includes Jofre as well as the other Borgia kids.)
