I'm writing fic instead of doing homework. Flashbacks to freshman year! Finish out college the way I started, right? Different fandom, same deal.

Also, I can't believe I've written almost seven thousand words of BSG fic in the past five days or so. Good times, man, good times. Aside from yesterday's IP semi-crack, there's this, new today: “Look,” Doc Cottle prefaces the meeting with, “I’m not saying that the kid’s irreparably frakked up, but I’d give him a good, long look before I even thought about putting him into a combat situation any time soon. But I’m not a shrink, so don’t take my word for it.” LOOK I JUST REALLY LIKE HELO OKAY? (Which is probably the main reason that it's highly unlikely I'll do more than dip into the fandom, since my modus operandi tends towards long, plotty action-adventure gen.)

Right now my main concern with Narnia is if I'm going to try and do the Narnia Big Bang for NaNoWriMo or if I should just go ahead and start it now. Also...if I should reread The Last Battle. Since I haven't done so in...many years. That's the reason I've never specified where Dust breaks with canon, because I, uh, never bothered rereading LB.

(Just because I'm writing BSG fic doesn't mean anything. I never finished my Lion King fic, you know? About how Simba was really fucked up. Er, when I'm not writing long, plotty action-adventure gen, I'm writing about how characters are really fucked up, I guess. I only have three settings, apparently: fucked up, plotty, and world-building. I used to have a porny setting, but it's broken. Apparently.)

Okay, I really need to switch from fic to homework. Or -- eat something. It's an option.

So today has totally been one of those days where I'm done with class at eleven, but by eight pm have only accomplished two things when I need to have accomplished six. Um, whoops? Somehow I do not think that my Greek Art & Archaeology professor will accept 800 words on Helo's post-Caprica PTSD instead of my paper on dating pre- and post-Persian sculpture on the Akropolis in order to determine whether the Severe Style pre- or post- dates the Persian Wars, even if they are about the same page-length. (But at least I read the article, and the paper's a pretty straight-forward analysis type thing. I am also translating some Livy and reading a book called Pen Portraits of Illustrious Castilians, which I suspect will be hilarious once I get past the introduction. Also, once I eat enough food that my hands stop shaking. My self-preservation instincts, they kind of suck.)

Also, for some reason? Tigh, really easy to get his voice down, at least from a different POV. Been a while since I was writing for a fandom I'm actively consuming, especially in a medium where I can hear the character's voice. (Or, you know, one where I actually check up on the canon once in a while.)

Of course, it would help if I stopped accidentally spoiling myself while googling to check canon. IT'S REALLY IRRITATING OKAY. (I mean, my fault writing a closed canon that I haven't finished yet, but still! Really irritating.)

Okay. Homework. The Akropolis. You know. Then the Castilians. Enough so that I can fake an abstract tomorrow, anyway.
