all Star Wars, all the time

Have just finished the Mandalore arc in S2 of SW:TCW, which involves Obi-Wan and Duchess Satine, the woman he had an affair with as a Padawan. SW:TCW consistently has really, really awesome women, and Satine is no exception. She's a pacifist; she heads up the neutral systems during the Clone Wars, and she and Obi-Wan constantly butt heads (and have pretty blistering sexual tension for a pair of animated characters). She's also fierce and strong-willed, and extremely smart. And close friends with Padme, because SW:TCW is a member of the ladies getting shit done club. (Seriously, of all the media I expected to consistently pass the Bechdel Test, SW was not one of them, consdering that the main movie canon has...what, two movies where two women are in a room speaking to each other at the same time? TPM and AotC; RotS only in deleted scenes, I think, and I don't think the OT manages it at all. And yet, SW:TCW consistently has two or more women who are friends, who get things done, and who are all fierce, strong, smart characters. Ahsoka Tano, Padme Amidala, Asajj Ventress, Satine Kryze, Mon Mothma, Aayla Secura, Luminara Unduli, Barriss Offee, Adi Gallia, Mother Towsin, Aurra Sing, Jocasta Nu...ladies get shit done. Sometimes while the menfolk are busy flirting bickering. *is quietly hopeful that T'ra Saa, the Dark Woman, and Khaleen Hentz will show up in the series*)

Er, where was I going with this? Oh, yes. Satine. Awesome. (Plus, you see where Anakin learned his pick-up lines. Obi-Wan: not actually any smoother than his apprentice.)

(Totally now want to write the story with lady!Obi-Wan and Satine, because I can see it in my head and it is brilliant. Preferably with lady!Obi-Wan, Satine, and Padme, because laaaaaadies. And both the politicians Obi-Wan has had affairs with in the same room, and Obi-Wan sincerely wishing she'd decided to be celibate. Have possibly figured out how to work it into the maybe!sequel to Dirt.)

Unrelatedly: Palpatine must have had a back-up plan to deal with the Separatists the way he did with the Jedi, yes? *muses* I mean, he's too smart to have counted slowly on Anakin showing up to slaughter everyone at his command; he had to have at least one CIS-equivalent to Order 66.

Hey, guess what, guys! I woke up and had to Service Wave something else water-related in this apartment! (The bathroom sink won't drain.) I also woke up in the middle of the night because of the MASSIVE THUNDERSTORM and was briefly convinced that something in the bathroom was dripping, because a leak in the light or the shower was the more logical explanation to me than a wet towel dripping water all over the floor, given the year I've had.

Wake up sleep-deprived, ponder my imminent academic failure, Service Wave something water-related in the apartment... GEE JUST ANOTHER DAY IN THE LIFE. Do something frantic last-minute studying and try to figure out if I can or should skip anything today...

It is amazing how SW:TCW Obi-Wan has chemistry with everyone, and basically I want to write him having casual sex with...almost everyone (except I won't, since I'm still not that interested in porn right now), and yet the only person I actively ship any variation of Obi-Wan with is Anakin, who is also the one person that I am completely unable to get him into bed with. And trust me, I've been trying.
