I had no internet and no computer the first day because I forgot to buy a power converter and thus was afraid to turn on my laptop because I wasn't sure how long the battery would last, but now I have both a working laptop and internet. Hurrah for internet!
Mostly in England it is cold and I keep meeting Canadians studying law. England attracts a lot of Canadian law students, I guess. I think my accent gets more and more obnoxiously American with each passing day. I think I managed to keep from saying "y'all" for about the first twenty-four hours (not on purpose, I just wasn't really addressing more than one person at a time), but as of yesterday all bets were off. I mean, not that I don't want to pass as American! I just think it's funny. Also as soon as I say "y'all" the Canadians know that I am not One Of Their Own. (Seriously. I have met so many Canadians. Mostly from Toronto, not from my neck of the woods, British Columbia. I've met four Canadians to every one American I've met. I mean, other nationalities too, it's just the overwhelming number of people I attract seem to be Canadian.)
Now if only I could get my heater working.
