Oh my God, I added 14K worth of commentary to my novel and I still have to go back and add in more stuff, like disclaimers that say, "This is in no way finished nor is it supposed to be. No. Really. REALLY."

Granted, half of it is me going, "So how many ways can I mess up the timeline? EVERY SINGLE TIME I PUT DOWN A SPAN OF YEARS, apparently," but still.

You're welcome to email it to me, but I have no idea when I'll manage to get a chance to read it. My life lately has consisted of "term paper, more term paper, trip to the library, work, class, sleep, more term paper, oh hey ten minute break to read a fic!, more term paper, class, REPEAT" which is killing me.

(Although, whatever, it's a four day weekend so I'm actually going over my CSI: NY fic from NaNoWriMo for the first time since November to proof, edit, and maybe get around to posting)

But OMG I want to reaaaaaaaaaad iiiiiiiiiiit!!!! I swear, as soon as school is over I am going to spend, like, a week straight doing nothing but catching up on fic, OC fiction, and actual books that I haven't had time to read.

You don't have to read it, I just thought you might like to have it on hand sometime. It also makes no sense. At all. I'm not kidding when I say half my 14K (FOURTEEN THOUSAND WORDS OF COMMENTARY. ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND WORDS OF STORY) is me wailing about the timeline. (Which was off every time I mentioned years, ever.)

I have done next to no homework this spring break because of my novel. And spring break ends tomorrow. GOD DAMN IT. I planned to do scholarship essays, but since I plan to graduate, senior project takes precedence. And I keep thinking of cool things to do with the novel. (I have so much love for Colby, who you haven't met. Colby is awesome. Colby is in over his head, but Colby is awesome.)

Then you should DEFINITELY email it to me. I'll probably end up putting it on my iPod to read when I go to Chicago in a few weeks, since I'm not bring any luggage with me and will surely die of boredom on the flight!

You have class on Monday? SUCK!

Yeah, you think it's bad now, wait until all five of your profs decide to assign you term papers DUE WITHIN A WEEK OF EACH OTHER. Because they will. Oh, god. Although I've gotta say, the fact that you have to do a senior project is lame, especially since it's due SO EARLY for you guys :( :( :(

YES.

It's due early, but we don't do the presentation for another month. And the presentation can only be eight minutes, tops, and you know what? Nowhere, nowhere, are we given the opportunity to reflect on the project or what we've learned from it. We had that opportunity, then they changed it because apparently most people were going to use the "reflection letter" to bitch. The reflection letter is now about what we've learned from high school, not the goddamn senior project.

(Captain Colby Quinn, USAF, assigned as Bravo Team's pilot...which means all he deals with are Rangers day in and day out. Poor Colby. He's a geologist, you see. And as a Ranger reminds him the first time they meet, "A pilot. In space.")

Wow. That is... honestly, just so, so very lame. LAME. ALL IN CAPSLOCK, TO EXPRESS ITS LAMENESS. It seems like the entire point of the senior project is to give you ulcers from all of the stress it's causing you.

Spaceforce which does not go all the way to the end, alas. Although, you know, parts of the end are there, just not, well, there.

Yes! And I don't get why we aren't allowed to talk about how it's affected us or what we've learned. Shouldn't that be the entire point? V. v. confused.

(Everybody only thinks he's in over his head (including Drew, who's actually kind of a bastard from Beau's POV), but Colby is zen. He's dealing with it. He's dealing with it by getting beat up and shot a lot, but at least he's getting a hell of a lot better at shooting back, because that's what Rangers do. And everybody except Beau and the rest of his team underestimates him, despite the fact he, as a pilot, was handpicked for the Nellis starfighter program.)

(As you can see, I have a lot of love for the members of Beau's team.)
