Orchestra camp ended today. We got a standing ovation. *preens*

Also, we drove over to Yakima today, and I bought books with money from the barn sale we had.

Brimstone, by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child
Homicide Special, by Miles Corwin
Ultimate Fantastic Four, Vol. 1 & 2

That's right. I've gone over to the dark side. However, the art is very pretty and the characters are snarky and no, I haven't seen the movie yet.

[livejournal.com profile] stellaluna_, I would have bought Gotham Central, but Borders didn't have it. I looked, though.

I've come to the conclusion that comic books are sort of like tattoos, in that it's rare for anyone to get just one. Welcome to the obsession; your bookshelves may never be the same again.

Speaking of the dark side (but not of comics, or of orchestra either)... I have something to show you.

The pic's not that good, but yeah, that's Patrick O'Brien Demsey.

Shiny indeed. Now *that's* one helluva google result, I'd say.

(you know, earlier, I realized that the player who asks OC "how's your legs" and gets the response "I'll let you know when I can feel 'em" is Mac. *intrigued*.)

Oh, yeah, they mentioned that during the commentary. Just something along the lines of, "Oh, and here are the two guys who had a fight earlier having a nice moment."

...for some reason that comment strikes me as being strangely dirty, although I can't figure out why. Well, yeah I can, but that's not the point.

I think the next watching should be one with the commentary on, although... it sounds kinda... cleaned-up, almost. Like Disney was in there poking them with sticks going "now remember, this is a family film".

The more I think about it, the more stunned I am that no one actually died or was seriously injured on this team. Well, you know, by their teammate's hands. And hell yes, it's dirty. Yes, OC, Mac will certainly know when you can feel your legs.

Other thing I've decided: Herb calls them "gentlemen" when he's angry or imparting an important "don't-fuck-this-up" lesson. Herb calls them "boys" when he's being moderately amenable.
