let's try bullet points this time!
Jul. 18th, 2008 01:26 pm*Last night, I finished part two of "In Constellated Wars" ("Gone Under the Hill", Susan's POV) and this morning I started part three, "Of Dead Secrets", which is, of course, Edmund's POV. I have high hopes for it not doing what "Gone Under the Hill" did and being, you know, 1500 words longer than the previous part. Of course, when I was thinking about this, I clearly forgot the part where everyone except Peter actually interacts with other people, so who knows?
*Between "In Constellated Wars" and "All Fall Down", I may have accidentally given Peter a drinking problem. Um.
*At the risk of getting shot in the face (or, you know, online equivalent), y'all know what I would like to see? Kickass vids that focus on the guys. It's not that I have any problem with all the yaykickasswomen vids -- oh, hell no, I am madly in love with Bionic -- it's that you never see the same thing with guys. With guys it's not all angst all the time -- sometimes it's shippy stuff -- but you don't tend to get the same kind of multifandom awesomeness that you do with women. (Hi, if I could vid, I would vid this, and there would be Narnia and SGA and SG-1 and Farscape and CSI:NY and S:AaB and SW and SPN and Firefly and Indiana Jones and LotR and PotC and The Mummy and yes, I get your point, there is a lot more source material for guys than there is for girls, but this doesn't mean we can't talk about the guys too!)
*Also, um, forget the thing I just said about the angst. I would learn how to vid just to vid Peter to Shawn Colvin's "New Thing Now" (link to lyrics). (Shawn Colvin is totally my Narnia artist of choice. For everything. "Nothin' On Me" is my post-PC Susan "fuck you, Aslan" song.)
*I blame the driveby porn last night on finishing "Gone Under the Hill."
*I have started running, and there is a freaky, freaky bird on the route that I started out taking. Now, you guys probably don't know this, but here it is: I am deathly afraid of birds. Birds freak me out. They are scary. Feathers make me nervous. You know when you're a kid, you chase pigeons in the park? Pigeons used to chase me. Anyway, my house is just before the road dips down on a hill, and as I'd go down the hill, this bird would fly, like, three feet over my head and screech at me. Did I mention I was terrified of birds? When we went to the zoo for the senior excursion, I would not go in the closed off bird areas. It would chase me down the hill, it would chase me up the hill. So now I'm running the opposite direction. My road loop is about four miles long; I was only doing about a mile, and since I live pretty close to the start, I have to run up and down the road a couple times to get the same distance in. It's flat, too, but best of all there are no goddamn birds.
*If Shawn Colvin is my Narnia singer, T.S. Eliot is my Narnia poet, and most especially "The Four Quartets."
*Okay, I clearly have nothing to talk about except Narnia and the Bird of Doom. (I am not kidding about being terrified of birds, guys.)
