...I think I burned myself folding my laundry. What the hell, Tulane? (The dryers dry REALLY HOT, and metal studs on jeans STAY hot, and just...ow. Teeny-tiny little burn on my thumb, just over my ring. It doesn't really hurt, but...wow, Tulane. Stay classy!)

The dryers at Iowa were like that. Which, on the one hand, awesome, because it means your clothes are dry, but on the other hand it sucks to fold jeans. But better too hot than not hot enough, like the dryers in Ottawa which, um, didn't dry.

This is true. With my dryer at home, I always had to dry everything twice, because they...also didn't dry. AND YET.

Most industrial dryers do that. I've burned my hands god knows how many times on clothes I've dried in school or laundromat dryers. An annoyance, but one gets used to it.

The bigger annoyance is that industrial washers/dryers beat the holy fuck out of your clothing.

Excellent; here at Tulane, I will receive both sunburns (if the hurricanes ever end) and actual burns.

ah, they're only little ones, though. It happens. Like jamming yourself with a needle or getting a papercut. In fact, less annoying than a papercut, even. :D

Unless you burn the tips of your fingers. Then you have problems.

(Also, hello, you're talking to the only person I know who managed to get a papercut during PE, of all classes.)

...I forgot, you play instruments.

Where on earth was there paper in PE?

And I write. (I didn't burn my fingertips, though, just the side of my thumb.)

In my backpack. It was a weird situation.

I tend to ignore anything short of an actual cut on my fingertips re: typing, but, that's just me. I've burnt myself on hot grease a few times, but that's usually the backs of my hands. (and once, my brother accidentally got me in the hand with a cigarette. again, back of the hand though.)

...how peculiar indeed.

During marching band last year, I had blood drawn from the tip of my finger (you know how it is), and that was...awkward. Because I still had to play, and the cut was right where I hit the keys, and I still had to type, because I'm me.

But that would've only been for a day, yeah? Burns might be annoying for several days.

I feel you on the typing. (how else would I converse with my friends?) And I've gotten annoyed when my hands are bruised/fractured/fucked/burned and I want to draw and it hurts too much.

It was several days, probably because I kept breaking the cut open because I was playing.

Wait, this is a papercut or the blood-drawing poke?

...

How- wait - what?

I've honestly never seen a blood-draw fingerprick that was big enough to reopen in any way. D: That must blow.

Well, I'm pretty sure it was a blood-drawing poke. It was on my finger, anyway.
