NARNIAN GHOSTS IN CAIR PARAVEL. *weeps* Oh, Edmund.

Sorry about your teeth, Caspian. Hope you didn't need those!

ETA: Excellent, I just broke my own heart.

:snerk:

At least you don;t have the bunnies who suddenly popped up in the AU-where-they-stayed-in-PC and went 'Eustace. VotD. You know you want him to be swept in when E, L + C are out checking on all the islands that technically owe taxes (bugger this 'seven lords' thing). And refusing to believe that it's been 3 years for them when it's only been one for him.' Airs and graces of Edmund and Lucy. All the sailors are Spanish and don't quite have enough English to understand 'British Consul'. And what're you going to do about Ramandu's daughter, HUH? Are they even going that far? Is Caspian going to look twice considering he's technically betrothed to Susan but in a rather open threesome with her and Peter? Would the Pevensies even let him consider a non-political marriage?

See, this is why I'm glossing over the thirteen years between part one (PC) and part two (England) of the Petaverse. All we really need to know is, "Rilian went missing, then the Telmarines came BACK."

If Caspian is sleeping with both Peter and Susan, I think he'd be too terrified to even LOOK at Ramandu's daughter, much less consider a non-political marriage. Is it really a three-year betrothal?

Oh, Eustace is so screwed. *gleeful*

:g: The Pevensies told Caspian very early on that he'd be getting betrothed to Susan as part of a gesture to the Telmarines to show that they were committed to sharing power (or at least giving the illusion that Caspian would have influence over Susan, when it's more like 'so Susan can twist his arm in public while he learns'). Caspian enthusiastically agreed, then found out that Peter and Susan decided to share him (in my world, there was definite basis for that confusion about Susan being Peter's wife or sister), and everyone's allowed other people. :cough: Amazingly, there's still a wedding date to be set.

Hee. When you put it like that, I think if they even get to Ramandu's island (probably not, considering they're not on a jolly like VotD essentially is) Caspian'll probably be going 'well, she's gorgeous, but it's not like she compares to the Pevensies.' I suspect Peter and Susan have completely warped his tastes to the point that if they don't have visible muscle and scars and the ability to face down entire armies, he's not that interested. Not to mention Edmund and Lucy're there too. Caspian in VotD is *shallow*.

Eustace will spend a lot of time spluttering. Whilst Lucy essentially pats him on the head and says 'sit over there while we get on with everything.' And Edmund ignores him and bans Reepicheep from poking him.

...I honestly have no idea what they're going to do with the film. Because you just could not get away with most of the stuff Eustace does in the book (since our first intro to Reepicheep was killing the Telmarine soldiers), Lucy and Edmund are established as much harder and savage, Caspian isn't a happy-go-lucky airhead, etc, etc. I seriously could not see Lucy just going along with things and being sidelined and protected the way she is in the book.

Oooh, does this mean that the Pevensies have been MIA for a year? And that the Pevensie parents are freaking out?

indeed they have. Everyone refers to them as 'disappeared', but the Scrubbs (and thereby Eustace) know they ran away on the first day of school, almost certainly due to Peter getting into fights again. The last time anyone saw them, peter was in a fight at the station, and Eustace himself can testify to just how odd they've been acting since they came back from the country. Hardly a surprise, really. I haven't thought owt about the pevensie parents since what little I've written (the opening scene) has been from eustace' POV, and he's rather known for being somewhat self-absorbed pre-Dragoning.
