*blissful sigh*
Oct. 3rd, 2008 11:04 pmHave just caught up with the first episode of the new season of The Unit. God, I missed this show. This is my favorite show ever -- and I watch a lot of TV. And y'all know I'm primarily a fantasy and sci-fi type person, and hte majority of shows I watch are crime procedurals, but I love The Unit, and I missed it with an unholy passion. BABY YOU'RE BACK.
Just for reference: Jonas Blaine can out-badass John Winchester, and that's saying something. Also, hearts to Bob, a.k.a. LEGOLAS. Or perhaps QUEEN SUSAN THE NOT-SO-GENTLE. And Grey, what with the black powder. And Mack! Oh, Mack, y'all are so screwed. Ryan, though, you're even more fucking screwed. "If an officer sleeps with a shooter's wife, it's a death sentence." (Paraphrased.) OH MY GOD. This is so not going to end well. Jury's still out on Bridget Sullivan -- I like her, but. Automatic reaction whenever they bring in a new female character. *shrug* I'm glad they're not putting her on the team, though, because that's good for realism. I was worried for a while there. But -- I like her. She can crack jokes with the boys, but at the end of the day, she's a soldier, and a good one. So far, as far as I saw, they aren't treating her like, a, someone who's better, stronger, faster, than the boys, or, b, a delicate flower they're all going to fall in love with, and fall over themselves to protect. I mean, for one, three of the men on the team are married, and while we didn't see Charlie's girlfriend in this ep, unless they've dropped her from the show (and they've dropped a couple other plotlines, but then again, they've also picked them up, and did I mention how much I love this show?), he doesn't seem like the type to stray.
Missed my show so much. I was so not this excited to see any other episode of the new season. I mean, then again, this one's been off the air since the writer's strike, if I remember correctly, and I was panicking because I thought it got cancelled. BUT IT DID NOT.
