bedlamsbard: natasha romanoff from the black widow prelude comic (battle (timeless-x-love))

I think the best part about writing this is that I don't have my copy of Last Battle, and I don't remember little details like, oh, where exactly am I going AU from? Or throwaway Narnian names.

Also, can anyone who actually has their copy tell me if Jill ever kills anybody (human, specifically, but I'll take otherwise too), either in Silver Chair or Last Battle?

Also, oh my God, Susan. So much love, y'all have no idea.

I have no words on the note that right now it looks like we're going to get Lucy/Tirian at some point. Really. No words. I mean, I kinda feel that Lucy could do better, but then I look at the way she's treating Susan and reconsider.

Tirian: somehow even more entitled than Caspian, despite his assurance that Peter's here to kill him and the five years living in the woods and generally being despised by everyone. I kind of want to bring Caspian's ghost back just to kick his ass.

Y'all do realize that you aren't actually going to see this until it's finished, ya know? Which could be a while.

It'd be totally worth waiting for! I am sure of it. Although I am so eager to see it.

And as for Jill, I don't remember she killed anyone, but I am not very sure. Well, I am fairly sure that in Silver Chair she didn't, but I can't really remember whether she did in the Last Battle. I am going to check.

Yes, Caspian. And he ever comes back during the Last Battle and meets the Pevensies-especially Peter and he's going to go, Oh my god they are here again. We are so damned.

*sadly* Although it makes no logical sense for Caspian to come back. I suppose I'll have to stick with Susan laughing and saying, "You're sweet, but you're no Caspian."

Jill's tally is all from the Stable Battle:

A Calorman and a Satyr in the first charge, and an arrow through the eye of a Bull, who was also gored by a Boar; another Calorman and a Wolf after they regroup to the rock

Sweet, because the stable battle doesn't happen in this 'verse. I still don't know where this is going AU (I have this horrible feeling I'm going to have to look around for a used omnibus copy, shoot me), but I'm kind of fond of the idea of her never having killed anyone. Mostly for this scene:
Susan paces back and forth sliding arrows free, discarding the broken ones and putting the good ones back in her quiver. A moment later she disappears behind a tree and comes back with Edmund's discarded longbow, which she holds out to Eustace.

"Edmund said you could shoot," she says, almost a question.

Eustace stares at the bow and quiver. "I -- Pole is better." His voice is uncertain, and he looks at Susan like she's a stranger.

Susan turns towards Jill. Jill takes bow and quiver hesitantly, eyes sliding past Susan's when she says, "I've never -- I mean, I haven't -- not someone."

"What have you been doing since you got here?" Susan asks blankly. "Don't hesitate," she adds, and walks away, stooping by her sister, who's still on her knees by Edmund's unconscious body.

If you want to avoid the Stable Battle, but still have Jill and Eustace, you can basically either branch off after the Eagle brings news of Calormene invading and Cair Paravel's fall, or you could do it a little earlier...the other big event you could turn on is the decision to rescue Jewel, and Jill's decision to rescue Puzzle while they're there. Maybe she could be caught in the act? Really, though, especially given your concepts, I would have them decide sensibly to sneak away and start gathering forces when they hear the news, rather than deciding to go grandstand at the stable, the idiots. (Commend herself to the Lion, pah.)
