Why yes I did get up at seven to do my laundry, because frankly I feel having clothes to wear would probably be a good thing. (I actually do have clothes; it's just that I'm out of jeans and the only bra I have left is bright green and I have this feeling it will be Seen under the only shirt I have that would go with the skirts that I haven't worn yet.)

This is why I'm up. That and I'm still reading about the friggin' Persian wars, which are actually fascinating -- as far as I have a specialization in anything, my specialization is in military history -- but I'd rather be working on Dust. Or the crackfic Lass and I have been writing in comments all over the place. (Narnia/Stardust! Narnia/Merlin! Peter/Arthur, because you can never have too many arrogant, deadly, blond royals in one place.)

I realize it is now eight, but I did in fact get up at seven. And now I should see what I can put together out of my remaining clean clothes and go to breakfast. *sigh* Because I'm not free till 12:15.

THE GOOD THING ABOUT CROSSOVERS IS THAT THE NARNIA IS STILL THERE.

*cough* I have seen Ep. 5! And am highly amused, for reasons that are completely unrelated except to Dust.

Dude, the Persians are totally being reflected in the Calormenes in Dust. Too bad for the Narnians! (Or at least, the Persians' tactics of ripping out tongues and generally being nasty.)

OUCH. Well, I can totally see how Persians = Calormenes. TURBANS FTW! XD

So where do you draw Narnian fighting style from? That's not a really good question to ask since they have so many types of soldiers, but you know I meant like the Pevensies, etc.

I am, uh, trying to avoid getting beaten with sticks for making them Arabs. So! Persians instead.

*snorts* Do you mean individual fighting, or tactics/strategy as a whole?

Ehe, they seem very Arabic to me anyways, so whatever.

Uhhhh, both?

As far as it goes for individual fighting, I more or less make stuff up from what I've read and seen onscreen; I don't have any sword-fighting experience. For tactics and strategy, I have an interest in military history, so I do a lot of reading in that area, both fiction and nonfiction. (As I've mentioned elsewhere, my senior project novel was military sci-fi, so all I read for eight months was military history and military memoirs.) And just having common sense generally helps too. *grin*

Peter/Arthur? OH MAN. way more royalty = way more hot. So maybe this is totally OT but have you read The Dark is Rising? Because you just made me think of Peter/Bran and how incredibly amazing that would be. oh man the fic bunnies.

Also see here (http://lassiterfics.livejournal.com/69632.html?thread=807936#t807936)! Because we are just that fabulous.

I have indeed! Although not in ages and ages, and man, I have to read it again. I'll have to find my copies of the books when I go home! Though I only, uh, have two of them.

That is a friggin' gorgeous<./i> icon.

sfdkjdsfh "You think everything is bad for national security" - I DIED. they are the best bickering brothers ever.

They are kind of my favorite books ever... I've been reading them since sixth grade. I only own two but that's because my library reliably has most of them available whenever I want to check them out. I have to say The Grey King and Silver on the Tree are my favorites, but Greenwich is also hauntingly gorgeous.

yes, I thought so too; I only wish I had made it! credit goes to [livejournal.com profile] frenchsweetie.

You two have really compatible writing styles. I'm super impressed by the products of your combined powers. Do you team-write officially or just drabble in sequence at each other?
