ahahahaha, my copies of The Chronicles of Narnia have arrived from home, so I can stop asking y'all stupid questions like, "Is Jewel male?" and "Narnia: far more likely to kill prisoners of war than Archenland? I THINK SO."

Also my ballot, so I can vote. Against the rest of fandom, by the way, and apparently against the rest of the population of New Orleans, but whatever.

*cough* And then I went to the used book sale at the Nadine Vorhoff Library, which is the NCCROW library, and bought three books, then went to the TU bookstore and bought a book about the Persian War with the happy discovery that I can use my Tulane debit card at the bookstore.

Yes, this is probably going to go about as badly as you think. But books. V. important, those. Although I'm completely out of room on my bookshelves now.

Books are wonderful!
(I mostly wanted to comment because I've been lurking and I'm trying to break myself of that habit)
Persian War books: as far as books on Persia go, HOW are you finding so many? My Arch History class is looking at Islamic forms and I'm having the hardest time finding relevant history books.
Oh, which war- the Greco-Persian?

Also my ballot, so I can vote. I'm intrigued...who *are* you voting for?

*raises eyebrows* Uh, I found one book, that's it. The Greco-Persian wars are coming up in my Greek Tyranny and Democracy class, so the rest of the stuff I've been babbling about is from my textbook. The book I bought is this one (http://www.amazon.com/Persian-Fire-First-Empire-Battle/dp/0307279480/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1224713269&sr=8-1), about the Greco-Persian wars, yeah.

McCain. I don't agree with a lot of his policies and I'm not particularly fond of Palin, but I agree with McCain more than I do Obama on certain issues, the ones I feel are most relevant at the time. (Mostly, not the social ones, but, well.)

ohhh, my mistake! For some reason I thought the other three books you brought were also Persia-related, and I got really excited. ^^;

McCain! Personally, I like Obama, but I can see where you're coming from. Some of his foreign policies I agree with, but he does lose me on social/economic ones. And Palin. ;)
Isn't it exciting to vote!! I feel like I'm making A Difference. (although electoral college sooo not really, but still) Are you voting absentee or in New Orleans?

Nah, the other books I bought were The Time Traveller's Wife, The Secret of Platform 13, and Thornyhead.

Neither! My entire county's mail-in, so my mother just sent my ballot when it arrived, and I will send it back probably tomorrow.

Although really, me and the books? I check, they say, I cheerfully disregard.
