Nov. 1st, 2008 10:45 amHuh. Petaverse Caspian isn't as blatantly paranoid and/or aggressive as canon Caspian, but I'm not sure if that's holdover from writing Tirian (I basically switched from writing Tirian to writing Caspian in the course of two minutes and it messes with my head), the fact that I've never written Caspian at this early point in PC before, or the fact that Caspian is really truly confounded at being confronted with a girl.
He can see, now, though his vision is still flashing red and green with pain and the edges of what he thinks might be a fracture in his cheekbone, or maybe just an utterly wretched bruise. He can see well enough to realize that the man below him is no man at all, but a woman – a girl, her face is young and her body equally so; she’s little more than a child. Her hair is spilling free of its braid and her face is bloodied from her fall, or from some blow he managed to land, or from some old wound, but –
She slams her head forward into his and Caspian barely holds his shout of pain and surprise, but the moment of distraction is enough. Somehow, somehow, impossibly, she manages to flip them, and before Caspian’s vision can clear anew she’s holding his own dagger to his throat, straddling his thighs and breathing hard.

Date: 2008-11-01 08:25 pm (UTC)but you know what my friends did when roommates moved out, they pushed the two beds together and made a HUGE-ASS BED, and it was awesome, and in addition to this awesome, if you raised the bed to the top-most hook, you get this sort of grotto underneath. my friend decorated the under-bed grotto with cushions and scarves and we would all hang out there and make shenanigans.
giant beds, bed!
also, the peter/susan missing scene afjs'd thx. perhaps i shall thank you IN KIND.

Date: 2008-11-01 10:09 pm (UTC)PETER AND SUSAN YO. WHOO! I note that the Peter/Susan subtext is significantly diminished when it's Peta instead of Peter. (My head, it bounces back and forth between Dust and Petaverse. It comes up against the last Dust scene I wrote, which featured Peter and Susan entering stage left and holding hands a la we had a very good night, and you?, and then flattens out against the Petaverse, where Peta is making doe eyes at Caspian by way of punching him in the face.)
