Tirian in Dust: David Wenham, pretty much as he looks on that front page.

Eustace in Dust: Colin Morgan, maybe?

Jill in Dust: still up for debate. Vaguely considering Angel Coulby, but not really sure.

Osumare Seaworth: vague mental casting is Eric Bana, but, well. *throws up hands*

ETA: Dust 5 was supposed to be lowkey. Who needs lowkey when you can have AWESOME? Between this and Water, today is apparently my day to write Susan being a badass. ROCK ON.

Except. Going to bed now.

ZOMG david for tirian! yes yes yes! downside to this is i am now imagining tirian as way too kick-ass, up side is lucy/tirian/ and peter/tirian or lucy/tirian/peter is too hot for words.

personally, i think colin is much too atractive for eustace, but the again he is related to the pevensies and they are like, sex-on-a-stick and all that, so...

jill, meh.

but yes yes yes for osumare! oh god yes. he is so pretty. *pets* and just GUH. he is awesome. particularly in this this picture (http://janeward.files.wordpress.com/2008/07/eric-bana.jpg), and basically all of troy. there are good ones of him, like, on a ship, so that's good. also, osumare doesn't happen to have a younger brother, does he? because, yeah (http://l.yimg.com/img.movies.yahoo.com/ymv/us/img/hv/photo/movie_pix/warner_brothers/troy/_group_photos/eric_bana7.jpg), and, yeah (http://www.killermoviereviews.com/uploads/TROYBanaBloom.jpg) again. XD even if they aren't related, i sooo want him to be a part of osumare's crew and sleep with everyone, or maybe just lucy. we were talking once about how lucy probubly 'lost it' to one of osumare's crew, and i want it to be him (http://www.judesplace.com/paris.htm) so badly. i mean paris is a pussy, but this guy (http://www.erasofelegance.com/entertainment/movies/troy/troy42.jpg), would be awesome. now, he needs, like, characterization, lol. actually though, they would probubly dress more like this (http://www.derok.net/images/entertainment/orlando%20bloom%20pirates.jpg) or this (http://orlandobloom.celebden.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/ob3.jpg) or this (http://z.about.com/d/movies/1/0/T/R/P/piratesofthecaribbean3pubx.jpg) because they are, like, pirates and all, so, yeah.

so now that i have overthought this to the point of annoyance, i'm going to bed.

also, SUSAN FTW!

Tirian is not that not kickass. I mean, he's no Caspian, and he's certainly no Peter or Edmund, but he does have the red hair and the slightly panicked eyes and the look of being perpetually in over his head.

Maybe Narnian air makes people more attractive?

*laughs* Bana is not quite my Osumare, but right now it's close enough. Osumare's -- hmm, my vague mental impression (I don't do mental images) is "something like Caspian, only not."

:tilts head: David Wenham yes.

:pokes you: put Merlin DOWN.

I'd always pictured Eustace as sandy-haired and a lot more...well... stockier than Colin, who's v. lanky.

Angel? Seriously? (admittedly my main sticking point on that one is that she's not whiter than white which most of CS Lewis' lot and the middle class would be)
Osumare. hmm. I know I had a mental image.. somewhere...but Eric Bana will do very nicely. mind you, I'm sure you said he was younger. What about Guy Pearce?

DAVID WENHAM TOTALLY YES.

Hmm, who are they using for Eustace in VotDT? ...I guess Will Poulter is kind of sandy-haired. Agh. *flaps hands* My occasional urge to cast my characters is kind of stunted by my lack of knowledge of non-American actors, especially young ones. (You'd think there'd be more in HP, but NO.)

Osumare's in his late twenties by "In a Dry Month" and older by the time of the White Stag. Bana's not exactly my Osumare, all I got is "dark, not too tall, clever-faced, like Caspian only totally not."

Maybe Richard Armitage, the guy who plays Guy of Gisborne?

personally, Thomas Sangster from Love Actually would do a pretty good grown-up eustace - he's about 19 now.

HP does not like blondes.

*googles* Too young! Eustace is...god, I figured this out somewhere. Twenty-one? And that kid is younger than me, and looks it.

It's such an awkward age to cast. *sigh* Not too young, not too old.

...you know, actually, a young James McAvoy (http://www.jamesmcavoy.com/coppermine/displayimage.php?album=1&pos=3), maybe. You know. Except for that whole Tumnus thing. I mean, we're still back here at "not blond", but at that point we could just go back to Colin Morgan. *dramatic sigh*

yeppers. which is not helped in America by the standard casting of twenty-somethings as teenagers.

Mmmmm, young james McAvoy. I'll just take a moment here... Huh. What about the bloke that's currently playing Robin hood, Jonas Armstrong? he's early twenties. the main problem i have with Colin Morgan is not so much the hair as that he looks too lanky for Eustace, and gives off the impression of always having been lanky - which Eustace was definitely not during VotD and Silver Chair. Could always go with one of the kids from Skins or Hollyoaks, I suppose, if you want early twenties.

Also, on the subject of Jill : the young Kate Winslet.

So when one is actually looking for someone to play a twentysomething...hi, welcome to America! We screw with your heads!

*blinks* Do we know Eustace isn't lanky? Because I kind of have a vague mental image of him being such...what did I actually write in Dust? (Well, I suppose the better question is also, "What did Lewis write, but whatever.) *checks* *laughs weakly*
Five years have added breadth and muscle to Eustace’s shoulders; there’s still a trace of puppy fat on his round face and there’s something about the set of his mouth that still makes him look thirteen and petulant if Edmund squints, but he hasn’t turned out badly at all.

And then Susan's POV from a deleted scene:
She turns her attention to Eustace and Jill Pole. She knows neither particularly well - Eustace better than Pole, of course; she’s only met Pole once, and that in passing. Eustace has filled out since last she saw him; his face isn’t nearly so unfortunate anymore and there are sword-calluses on his hands. Pole is still rather plain and small for her age, a mousy sort of girl - woman, Susan supposes; she and Pole are the same age now. But her arms are muscled, and she doesn’t seem ill at ease in the rough conditions they’re living in. She hasn’t heard Eustace complain once either. Narnia has a way of doing that to people, changing them, making them more than what they could be in England. It did so for her; it’s seeing clear to do so again.

*muses* Luke Ford (http://www.reelmovienews.com/images/gallery/luke-ford.png), maybe? Slightly younger, but.

Kate Winslet's too pretty, I think.

maybe it's the illustrations. In which he tends to look stocky more than anything. Not fat, just stocky.

hence the *young* kate Winslet - who really wasn't that much to look at. It's only when she hit her late teens that she developed into the English Rose look.

*throws up hands* At this point I give up, seriously. (Although. I had forgotten that Susan was quite that critical. "Oh, yes, Eustace isn't much to look at, Pole is mousy and plain, but at least I look fabulous." *giggles*)

*more googling* Hmm, around 1995, in Sense and Sensibility (http://katewinslet-celebfan.blogspot.com/search/label/Sense%20and%20Sensibility%20%281995%29)? Because that could work.

AGH EUSTACE. GROW A FACE. Perhaps Luke Ford looks too wholesome. *beats head into wall*

she was even plainer/feral looking when she was younger, so the thought that she'd grow up into the Sense and Sensibility look works.

Psycho thing aside, he doesn't actually look that much like Harry when he's not wearing his glasses.

For some reason, Daniel Radcliffe as Eustace is just hilarious. I have no idea why. *bemused*
