Guys, I am, uh, I am kind of afraid to watch PC. What if it isn't as good as I remember it? What if I get jossed some more? (I apparently hallucinated the recurring scars thing.) I am, like, pathetically nervous, so I'm still back here working my way through Criminal Minds, which isn't doing much for my paranoia, but hey! I love this show.

Brief detour from Dust to write Golden Age Peter and Susan for almostinstinct, and in other news of AWESOME, lassiterfics and I continue our Narnia as Ocean's 11 AU, which now includes an Ocean's 11 crossover and also these lovely lines:

honeybaby, i will add that you were the one who brought the plot in. i was just bouncing around writing tragic juvenile delinquent incestuous backstory. because! that is practically canon anyway.

fine then! since i can watch it on netflix. when i have time, which is to say, uh, not now. (seriously, i am back at that point where i do not care about school, like, at all. which is bad because finals is next week.)

i was bouncing around next steps for this in my head today and it's kind of like 'sing the sun' where who knows how the hell this is going to end, but let's throw THIS in and see what happens wooOOOoooOOO. so i might take these kids globe-trotting a little bit, fair warning.

i am kind of glad that my finals are all papers and things i have time to work on, no cram-for-the-exam for me. not that i can take this lying down because OMG THESIS D-:

the thing is that i, uh, don't believe in studying. *facepalm* i have a philosophical objection to it. oh, i mean i'll do it, sort of, i'm getting better at it, i just kind of got myself into the headspace in high school that if everything i learned in class wasn't enough to ace the test, then i don't deserve to live. which works out semi-well for lib arts stuff. i study, sort of, for maths and sciences and foreign languages, but that's because i need to. i am way too cocky on the lib arts stuff.

also, i really don't care. i think i stopped caring about school about two years ago. oh, this is going to go so badly.

...okay so for the past couple of years i may or may not have been writing the same paper over and over again, cunningly rephrased. you eventually figure out the tricks and trades of your major/dept and its expectations of you, and manipulate it to your preferences. i'm trying to care about my dead white men and my western social measurement standards, and i do find my readings quite interesting (says the girl checking her email instead of reading foucault), y'know, but i'm going on 4.5 years of higher education here and it's hard not to ponder the existence of a point of diminishing returns. as one does during finals, i guess. thank god i'm not doing a phd.

but to be fair, i kind of come by it honestly. the fact that i got 4s and 5s on all my ap tests without doing considerable studying outside of class kind of set it in stone, and that was at the end of my junior year. i was crazy cocky before that, i got crazy cockier afterwards, and now i just kind of don't care.

which isn't really the best headspace to be in during one's freshman year of college.
