Oh, this is so like me to decide 1500 words in that this chapter might make a better Tirian POV than it would a Peter POV. I mean, I think it would work either way, but it might work better with the outsider POV, if only so I can wax rhapsodic about the look on Peter's face when he first sees Cair Paravel. Which is even more woe-like than in PC when he realizes that he's standing on the ruins of his castle and looking like he's just found his mother's grave; looking at the sprawling city of Cair Paravel, Calormene ships standing at anchor in the harbor and the countryside stripped bare, is like finding his mother's grave and realizing she's been dug up and flayed for shoe leather.

And this is before he gets involved with the thriving criminal underground. Also the brothels. I need to figure out how to bring those into the actual plot.

Okay, I feel bad doing this, but I can't not. I mean -- this is like a compulsion for me. I can't not do this. This isn't Golden Age Narnia. This isn't even close.

I desperately want icons that use the mirrored images from LWW and PC. Adamson went out of his way to do this, people! I wish I had icon-making capabilities. *dramatic sigh* There's -- Peter and Caspian with their wardrobes, the scan up to Cair Paravel, Lucy stepping up to the same exact window balcony and looking out at the shore/ocean, the centaur honor guard, the frolicking, the Pevensies on their thrones/the bases of their thrones...I mean, it depresses hell out of me when I think about it too closely, but hi, this is Narnia, I'm either ecstatic or depressed ninety percent of the time.

Hmm. I wonder if I can mirror with images in Dust too? Suddenly I want to.

Huh. I think I'll have Peter get roofied in Cair Paravel. (Guys, you do not even want to know what's on my list of stuff I want to put into Dust. Some of what's on there includes: puzzle boxes, torture, antique dealers, drugs, origami animals, and acupuncture.)

Note to self: must remember that there are giants in Narnia and that we see them in books and movies. Just never in the Warsverse, because hey! Number one on the list of things I forget to write.

Must also remember to get the Pevensies onto the nameless island -- Old Cair Paravel -- at some point. CAIR PARAVEL, BABY, WE MISS YOU. Also, we are bitter at the fact that LWW never showed more of you, although perhaps that's all to the better, except not.

also LOOK AT THIS ICON. it expresses approximately 99.99% of the things i love about the show and its fandom.

the sewers are also on the list! so are pralines. because i believe in diversity, natch.

there are giants in lww AND in pc AND in MULTIPLE BOOKS. i FAIL. i have not written giants into a single fic, golden age, pc, au, or otherwise. and i have written over 150K in this fandom, that is a LONG WAY to go without mentioning something that is doubly canon, when instead i have waxed rhapsodic on the aerial corps and the navy, neither of which is nearly so strongly supported.

OH MY GOD YOUR ICON.

tell me a way to get peter into the brothels. but not like that. the high king of narnia is no crackwhore, yo!

but he can pretend to be crackwhore. this may or may not lead to peter in a dress. then again, he can just as easily pretend to be a crackmanwhore. a mancrackwhore?

does it have to be peter? he can send eustace in his stead.

he can pretend to want to sell tirian to the pimp. this may or may not lead to tirian in a dress.

wait! i think after he gets roofied he's going to wake up in a brothel, because i feel that is a perfectly appropriate place for a narnian crime lord to conduct some of his business. there can be a tavern downstairs. or perhaps upstairs. i am debating.

meanwhile, tirian and eustace can be in the tavern being intimidated by narnian criminals. ohmygod, i am such a bad person.

tavern downstairs! bedrooms upstairs. but the sexings probably happen everywhere.

roofied?! why and who? what about tirian in a dress and being told to go down on his knees and to DISPLAY HIS WARES AND TALENTS? D-:

hmm, speaking of being bad people.

i have no idea, but i am going to figure out. the new cair paravel bit is probably going to be three chapters, and this is going to happen in either the second or the third. we get a different pov each chapter.

well, to be fair, i think he gets roofied by the crime lord, because he makes, like, the flashiest entrance ever. well, not ever, but it's pretty damn flashy.

that is later! with edmund.

The advantage of a Tirian pov is you get observations on how Peter interacts with his siblings, without so much emotion getting in the way of them understanding each other.

This is true. But this is also the chapter in which I split the Pevensies up for the better part of three weeks.

Well, he can think about how this one or that one would have interacted with Peter, then, or remembering how they *had* handled an event in the past and understanding it because he knows them, now.

I'm extremely excited for the brothels, for some reason. I think Eustace's reaction would be priceless.

Eustace has never actually seen Cair Paravel. *thoughtful* Or not this Cair Paravel, at least, and he didn't particular get a good look at Caspian's in SC.

OH THE BROTHELS.
