*blinks*

Suddenly I desperately want the story where, for whatever reason, Edmund has to pretend to be Peter. I mean, I don't know plot or anything -- I think it takes place during the year and a half Peter is missing -- but I know it involves Edmund and Susan trying to do the diplomatic thing with someone who will only deal with the High King, and for whatever reason, they can't let him know that Peter is unavailable.

And the only image I have is Edmund standing in front of a mirror and adjusting Peter's crown, saying to himself, "I am the High King of Narnia."

I don't think there would be another "high" position. Peter's the High King of Narnia, end of story. There is no other High King or High Queen. (Another reason I don't read fic, the people who say that now that Peter's gone, Caspian's the High King...DEATH.)

This is why I don't read fic, generally: PEOPLE SUCK. (like the ones who are all, "oh, Susan is Peter's older sister!")

I didn't mean "high" like the High King-I meant the boss of the family, the one the others look to. Because Susan's older than Edmund and Lucy, so there'd have to be a reason for either of *them* to take precedence-either she didn't want to be in charge or they had a talent/skill more suited to the situation, etc. Any circumstances that take Peter out of the picture and put Edmund in the forefront are going to cause problems, if Susan isn't very clear about turning to Edmund for assistance. Lucy's the swing vote.

Clearing out old mail, hi! *waves*

Well, in the Warsverse, at least, this happens twice. (Because my Peter has a habit of going missing, apparently. *facepalm*) I think it would weigh out to Susan being generally in charge, especially in terms of diplomacy and running the country and so forth, but Edmund would probably be taking over the army and the rest of the military.
