Dec. 11th, 2008 10:42 pmThe good news is that Dust 7 is done. The bad news is that C.S. Lewis is spinning in his grave because Dust 7 is part one of what I'm fondly calling the "thieves, drugs, and money" arc and includes such fun and exciting things as prostitutes, urbanization, drugs, homelessness, crime, and venereal disease.
Yeah, I'm pretty horrified too. After this chapter we go back to Arn Abedin and SANITY.
It's gone to beta, anyway. And I can stop checking The Lies of Locke Lamora for reference until I start Dust 9. (Hopefully at that point I'll be back home and have access to my copies of London: The Biography and The French Quarter: An Informal History of the New Orleans Underworld. Cair Paravel is a really, really shameless rip-off of New Orleans, as I have said approximately ten million times before.)
