Oh, I see that I have turned into one of those college students.

Cannot go anywhere, because my parents got rid of my auto insurance and therefore they won't let me drive, which kind of spoils my plans of going to the high school today or ANYWHERE ELSE, and I'm dying to get to the library and also the yarn shop. I also can't even walk anywhere, because I live a couple miles outside of town, and also, there is snow, and a lot of it. Also, it is FREEZING (in my house as well as outside). Please to be sending me back to New Orleans now, thanks a lot. Warm weather, no snow, STUFF IN WALKING DISTANCE or at least streetcar distance...

So, uh. Must readjust to the whole country living thing. Which would be easier if I could drive places. ARGH. Seriously, if you live in the country and don't have a car, you're screwed. Less so if you live in town, but since I don't live in town...

Oh, yeah, my plan for the moment definitely includes grad school in the South, not New England. SOUTH I LOVE YOU. Also, gumbo.

And, on top of that, the touchpad on my laptop is acting up. Please don't be broken; I need it to not be broken. Help? (It's working, it's just kind of jerky and less than smooth, and sometimes overshoots or doesn't move or doesn't go where I want it to go.)

Apparently the car's insured, but I'm not. *flaps hands* I mean, not that I particularly want to drive, because the roads are wretched, but I WANT TO GO PLACES. At the very least, I want chocolate.

Here you just pay a ridiculous extra amount of money to have your car insured for under 25 year old drivers. And should I, say, crash, the company will only pay about half of what they'd pay for an older driver.

Anyway, that sucks. Here, have some imaginary chocolate.

It probably does not help that I have actually been in a car accident.

I am debating baking these chocolate truffle cookies...

Surprisingly, I have not. I drove into a wall at about 2ks an hour, but that doesn't count.

BAKE THE COOKIES.

I got t-boned at an intersection and got my car totaled and myself taken off to the emergency room at the hospital strapped down on a stretcher. No damage except for whiplash, though!

Although my attempts to unleash the fury of the senior class on the idiot sophomores that hit me were unsuccessful. *pouts*

YA, I GOT THIS POS at the beginning of the semester and it's SUPPOSED to be a durabook modeled after the toughbook and laptops designed for soldiers GOING INTO COMBAT. ABLE TO WITHSTAND DROPS AND WATER AND SAND IN THE KEYS.

it may be combat-proof, but it has not proven to be lassiter-proof.

I am hoping if I just ignore it, it will get better. (Yeah, like that will happen.) God, it was fine two days ago in New Orleans! Maybe it just hates Washington.
