why so crazy, bedlam?
Dec. 30th, 2008 03:16 pm...you know, the thing about having a readily available canon is that I occasionally have to stop writing and pull up PC on iTunes so I can check -- wait for it -- Telmarine footwear.
JUST TAKE ME NOW, CRUEL WORLD.
You know, I could just say "boots", but no, I have to be specific. *sulks*
Gosh, and I'm not even on the scene I want. But it is the castle attack! I like the castle attack! Except for the part where half the army dies, but the action, I like the action.
I mean, I'm also watching LotR:TTT in another window, so it's not like I'm exactly lacking for action here, but this is Pevensie action, about a million times better than Middle Earth action.
Seriously, Telmarine footwear. (For the common foot soldier.) Who saw that coming?
ETA: Ha! Got the shot I wanted in the castle attack after all. Looks like knee-length black boots with a buckle on the side; I'll double-check in the bridge scene too.
You know, seriously, watching this side by side with LotR -- not literally side by side, but you know what I mean -- the Narnians, the Pevensies specifically, are, uh, kind of better fighters than the MCs in LotR, because there are all these moments in battles in LotR where they just kind of pause to, I don't know, admire the fact they just killed an orc or something, then they pull their swords out and get right on back to the hacking and bashing. And the Pevensies are all, "Right, onto the next one!" and don't even look at whoever it is they've just killed.
I think Susan may have a faster draw than Legolas, too, but I could be wrong there. But in a Peter/Aragorn fight? My money's on Peter.
ETA2: The bridge scene doesn't give a good shot of the boots, but it adds black or dark brown leather greaves, so whatever, it's not like Caspian's stabbing anyone in the ankle at this point.
ETA3: Okay, I liked, Legolas definitely has a faster draw than Susan. Elvish reflexes and all that. Gimli could probably take out Trumpkin, too. Still, my money would be on Peter or Edmund versus Aragorn.
Also, the scene in Water that I needed the boot description for? That would be for this line: He sees Peta raise her fist at the same time he sees a Telmarine soldier’s black boots and dark leather greaves appear through the grass a few paces in front of him.

Date: 2008-12-31 02:37 am (UTC)And Caspian doesn't even wear common soldier boots (http://costumes.narniaweb.com/caspian/candcorneliusguide.JPG). *dramatic sigh*
Seriously, I was never this interested in clothes before I got into this fandom, ohmygod.
