You know you're seeing a movie with another fangirl when afterwards you both turn to each other and say, "OH MY GOD I WANT MO/DUSTFINGER FIC. NOW."

I have vague thinky thoughts on Inkheart, but that will have to wait. In other news, Mo/Dustfinger. Man, do those two have a history. A slashy history.

AHAHAH that's how I became a fangirl. fahye turned to me over the head of an unfortunate third party and declared 'I'm going home to write Peter/Caspian. NOW.' And suddenly I realised what an AWESOME idea that was, and went straight home to find the relevant communities and sign up.

I think I became a fangirl long before I discovered the Internet -- I got into online fandom in 2001 or 2002, but a few years before that I started writing an, um, unauthorized sequel to The 10th Kingdom, so I think that's probably the first time.

I think the 10th Kingdom fic precludes the one that was a rip-off of The Mummy, except that everyone was a dog. No. Don't ask. You don't want to know.
