Things I have said in the past day:

RA: *demonstrating ballroom steps* This is East Coast! This is West Coast!
Me: I ACTUALLY KNOW THAT! I read it in a High School Musical fic!
RA: ...did you just say High School Musical fanfic? Why would you reread High School Music fic?! *in tones of horror*
Me: It's...occasionally adorable?
RA: WHAT DO YOU MEAN, "OCCASIONALLY ADORABLE"?

I have been about ninety percent sure for a while now that my RA is a fannish type. That makes three in our hall. (The other one is my friend LB. I have dropped sufficient hints that she can find me online if she feels so inclined, mostly because there are about two Sanctuary stories on Yuletide and mine is the only that mentions New Orleans. Also, my themes are so predictable.)

...oh, hey, I never said what I wrote for Yuletide, did I? Normal/Abnormal, Sanctuary, and after I wrote it I promptly stopped watching the show.

Anyway, in other news:

Comment with a story I've written, and I will tell you one thing I knew, learned, or wondered about while writing the story that didn't make it onto the page.

OH WELL, IT'S NOT LIKE I CAN SPEAK ANYWAY CONSIDERING THAT I HAVE 6700 WORDS OF CRACKFIC THAT'S SORT OF DEVELOPED PLOT BUT EVEN WORSE IT HAS DEVELOPED THEMES AND MOTIFS AND SHIT OH MY GOD I FEAR FOR MY ETERNAL SOUL.

BY THE WAY IT IS 6700 WORDS SO FAR.

the calormen fic was 8600-ish words. i have this lingering suspicion that this crackfest MIGHT BE LONGER THAN THAT.

IF MY LONGEST FIC IS A CRACKFIC I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I WILL DO WITH MYSELF, PROBABLY DRINK A LOT.

“Thank you, Father,” says Bradley, but instead of looking proud, he just looks queasy, which makes Merlin feel offended on Arthur’s behalf.

Uther would never say that to Arthur, no matter that Uther actually thinks so, no matter how Arthur starves to hear them. The only reason Uther is suddenly frank in his affection is because he is trying to find in Bradley the son he thought he had lost to some strange affliction, and now that Arthur is beginning to seem his old self again, Uther is determined to anchor him with reminders of his birthright: yes, Arthur belongs here, and yes, he is proud to have Arthur for a son, and yes, he is the beacon that will light the way for this kingdom in the future.

“I have faith in you,” says Uther, raising his goblet to Bradley.

All the things Arthur has wanted to hear from his father’s lips, and it’s not actually Arthur hearing them when it happens. None of this is Bradley’s fault, but it makes Merlin angry anyway.
