Sep. 17th, 2005 05:17 pm*takes deep breath* Well, I'm back on my desktop for the first time in weeks. It had to be completely wiped and reformatted - fortunately most of my writing was backed up on disk, and the computer people saved my music files and pictures for me. But it sucks, because I have to reinstall almost everything - Word, KeyNote, EditPad, probably my image manip stuff too. Not to mention go through and re-add stuff to Favorites and all that.
*sigh* You don't want to know how many viruses they pulled out of this baby.
The football team lost. Stupid football team. Jeez.

Date: 2005-09-18 01:58 am (UTC)Remind me to talk about the Toga Gym Jam during Homecoming; I have the feeling it'd amuse you. Or the Mr. EHS competition. (which I should probably go to this year, huh?)
Our cheerleaders suck this year. Last year's were so much better, but all the good ones graduated.

Well, it's not screwing up yet. *prods* KeyNote and EditPad are up, but I still need to reinstall Word.

Date: 2005-09-18 11:51 pm (UTC)See, when I was still at HS (town's HS), I was so repulsed by school in general that homecoming-- if we'd had one, and I don't know that we did, and it's almost certainly not as huge as it is in a lot of places I don't think-- was just beyond my range.
But that sounds so damned cool.
I lost my sheets last year. Still haven't gotten 'em back.
...public high school?
Very public, apparently. Talk about airing one's dirty laundry (not yours necessarily; just everyone).
The trouble with being a SPEDkid in the private schools was that you were properly sequestered from the outside world. Smart of them, really.

Date: 2005-09-19 12:12 am (UTC)I think it helps in that it's a small town, so there's not a big competition to become Homecoming Royalty - it's better to be Rodeo Royalty. One of the Senior Royalty last year actually was a Rodeo Princess. What else do we do? There's Casino Night, the Mr. EHS Competition, Battle of the Bands...Movie Night? I don't remember; I never went to any of these things, except for the Toga Gym Jam and the Homecoming Football Game. Which I had to go to, obviously, because of band. I should have gone to Mr. EHS; the guy I like took his shirt off for the swimsuit competition. Fortunately I still have a copy of the school newspaper that has that picture in it.
...what?

Well, we had clothes on underneath. A lot of the boys were pretty disappointed about the fact that since they were with the band, they couldn't take their shirts off. Even though they did anyway.
