You know, the meme where you post a line from each of your WIPs.



1. "Do you think the Calormenes go around the countryside kidnapping Narnian women at random? Well -- they do --"

2. “What, did you inherit your throne while you were still in diapers?” Arthur asks archly, and Peter can’t hold back the amusement from showing on his face.

3. Maybe that's the best curse -- to be forgotten forever.

4. Chailya sounds a little hurt when she says, “Please, your majesty. I’m a bodyguard, not a social secretary. Give me some credit.”

5. "Stories spread, you know, and if their queen can fight, then they’ll believe that they can fight too."

6. “At least you have opposable thumbs, and the healers don’t tend to be impressed with you being the High King and all when they’re trying to keep someone’s tail from falling off.”

7. James shoots him. Pevensie just crashed a bloody plane; the time for subtle is over.

8. “Yes, in a moment of outstanding brilliance, I led myself and my troops into a trap where I’ll probably die.”

9. "Shit," he curses softly, but for the love of Aslan, he can't remember a damn thing that's happened since he left Cair Paravel this morning.

10. "I am your mother and the last six months don't matter because I have known you for the last fifteen years, so --"

11. "No swimming in the marinas," it said, and Iason flinched, because it was wrong, just wrong, for something that looked like an animal to speak like a human being.

12. "No," Susan says. "They were too afraid of me."



*looks up* Okay, that's sad, that's just sad. And I'm not even counting all these random bits of scenes that I have lying about -- I actually have this one completed scene from the werewolf 'verse, I'm just holding out on posting it because...um, I'm not sure why. Who wants werewolf!Peter/Susan, extremely early version? And then a couple of scattered scenes from stories that aren't technically in progress yet, like the swan princess story and the (other) time travel story.

pfffffffffffft. That is not many at all. When I did this meme, I had 20 that I posted lines from, and more that I didn't because either I couldn't find them or they were so old I was never gonna finish them so I didn't bother. 12 is a perfectly ~manageable~ number ;D


also, I am very interested in #2, and I swear I have heard #5 somewhere else before ...

I have more, I just don't really consider them WIPs because they're lacking certain qualifications.

12 sounds manageable until you realize that one of these is a 93K+ novel and one of these is a 70K novel, both of which are going to go up in wordcount, and if you add all the rest together then the total wordcount is something along the lines of 200K.

#2 is cowritten with lassiterfics and got stalled a while back, and #5 is from Be Like Water, the Petaverse story.

I assume 2 is Crosstree, though I can't remember exactly. Man, I've been so out of touch with Crosstree for so long.

#2 is Crosstree, yes. It's the bit where Arthur and Peter are posturing at each other after the hunt and Edmund is trying to avoid beating his head into a wall.

I am reasonably certain that 10 is from a post-LWW fic from Helen Pevensie's POV on her children, but I'm not positive. And no, it's never been posted. Or, uh, typed, for that matter.
