We played "Gimme Some Lovin'" in my High School Marching Band for a drill.

And yeah, we played it for Pep Band. Lmao.

It doesn't sound so bad, but the bass line is...pretty much the same through the whole song. As in, the same note over and over and over again, except for maybe eight measures, where it's different notes over and over again! Joy.

That's just like "Long Train Runnin'". We have the same part over and over again. The only part really in the instruments that change is the trumpets because my director adores them.

Aw, man. It's pretty much my least favorite part about playing the bassline, the same thing over and over again. Not that it's much better depending on the song - but at least on flute you had some general variation.
