Sep. 30th, 2005 07:36 pmMan, I think I get off on power. It's fun being in charge of things.
It can also be very stressful, but we're not talking stress here, we're talking power.
Designing and organizing band sweatshirts. Now, in all my time in the band - second year high school band, three years middle school band - we've never gotten sweatshirts. This year we're getting them. Why is that? Because someone spearheaded the effort through. I designed them. I went and checked out prices, and I presented the design to the band. It's my baby. *preens*
I'm also president of the Creative Writing Club this year. That means we may actually have something resembling organization, and even perhaps write. Last year we mainly sat around and gossiped about band. We still have no boys and many band people. Not that there's anything wrong with band people; it just means everyone knows who and what we're talking about when we start talking politics. Band politics, that is. Two things I refuse to talk with my friends are politics and religion, because the most vocal of my friends are Democrats and I get sick of having to explain myself, and because I'm very much not Christian, which all my friends are, and I'm not really sure "pantheonic polytheist pagan" will go across really well.
I'm also getting kind of sick of working in a group, people not being able to figure out what to do, and me having to take charge and give orders, but hey. If you want something done right, do it yourself.
Man, I'm such a megalomaniac. Although hopefully without the sociopathy and the, you know, insanity and nation-conquering.
