You know, much as I love the witty banter, it kind of has the habit of resetting my brain at the worst possible times. Such as when the characters in question are sneaking out of a prison. Not the best time to have a cheerful back and forth! I could do with some quiet sneaking and perhaps a little bit of action here, you know? Instead of the Pevensie siblings being snarktastic at each other.

And I have missed writing it...lately it's been either sex or action.

Multitasking! They can snark and be in mortal danger at the same time!

Everyone has superpowers...

And heaven knows they've had a lot of practice at it, too.

Totally. Running/fighting for their lives has got to be old hat by now

And sneaking in and out of enemy castles, too. Man, their resumes must look weird.

*snaps fingers* Damn! I cut the scene where Susan is really creepy about pretending to be a goddess. Damn, I liked that scene.
“Don’t worry,” Susan says softly. “All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well.” She reaches up to bend his head to hers and kisses his forehead - benediction, blessing, grace.

And while she’s holding him upright and he’s trembling with terror beneath her hand, she puts her lips to his ear, just letting them brush the cool shell of it, and whispers, “Get me out of here.”

Who is that with her? I thought maybe Peter, and she was putting on the show, but not with the trembling in terror. And if it's someone she's working to intimidate, I would have thought she'd be more forthright and less whispery with a grand "release me, and while you're at it give me all your weapons and provisions and then beg for my forgiveness"

Okay, that maybe went a little far, but seriously, who's the guy?

It's an oceanid named Anthedon, a servant in Cair Paravel that's been left behind to clean up the wreckage after Prince Bahadur beat the hell out of her. (Hi. Dust 12 contains assault. *facepalm*) He's terrified of Susan, but he's also her only way out of the room. This is near the beginning of the 3.5K cut from -- uh, the 3.5K that was cut from this specific section of Dust 12; I think I cut more than 10K from Dust 12 all told.

Well, Susan took time to give Peter The Talk (followed up, presumably, with practical demonstrations) when they were sneaking into Miraz's castle. It's movie-canon! (Also, OT, Lewis is a sarcastic bastard. You don't notice until you re-read as a jaded adult.)

This is true! *slightly cheered*

Lewis really is pretty sarcastic. I reread SC the other day, and still.

...I don't know why I suddenly want fic where they steal the baby (Peter's idea; Susan's too sensible, I think) and chaos ensues. NO IDEA where it came from. I guess I just like the image of P & S abseiling off the castle walls and riding bent for hell with a random baby.

I am clearly on the good drugs.

You will not believe this, but that was actually one of the plans in Water during the (alternate) version of the castle attack: kidnap Prunaprismia, kidnap the baby, or just get the damned intel.

AHAHAHAHA! OK, can I ask for that as my timestamp? Like, Peter would be all for the idea but I also think he'd be the first to get fed up with the baby, which could be hilarious. :P

That's...not really a timestamp, and I have no idea what would have happened.
