So, I think it is pretty fair to say that the latest addition to the compendium of Golden Age Narnian music was not written by a Narnian. (Well, I guess it might have been. It might have been a lot more insulting.) I won't put the whole thing up right now -- I'll put it up when my brain suddenly decides to add a whole lot more music, which is actually looking fairly likely; some stuff just needs more lyrics -- but some bits of it I can't keep to myself right now.
Swear my lords, oh swear my lords
Oh swear my lords to me
Swear my lords, oh swear my lords
Come swear your loyalty (fealty?)
Or I will come with fire and sword
And I will teach you who is your lord
Your golden fields with salt be sown
Your gray stone walls I'll tumble down
I'll take your children, I'll take your wives
And last of all I'll take your lives
Whether or not it is a Narnian song will perhaps be a subject of great debate in the next edition of Traditional Narnian Music. (Seriously. I swear to God other people actually write fic.)
